PREFACE.

A

PERUSAL and consideration of the Bills of Exchange

Act, 1890, made necessary by the active practice of my profession, induced the belief that simply an Index to the Act, carefully and accurately prepared, would commend itself to those in my profession, or in business, having frequent occasion to refer to the law.

With a hope that my belief will be justified I present its result, which, if found useful, will be my reward.
