Thirty-two senators; One hundred and twenty-eight members of assembly; A speaker of the assembly, from its own body; For each house, a clerk, a sergeant-at-arms, a doorkeeper and so many other subordinate officers as each house respectively may deem necessary. 1 R. When the lieutenant-governor acts as governor, or is absent from the senate, it must choose a temporary president from its own body, to serve during his disability or absence.
