In this volume are collected all the Acts of the Parliament of Canada having exclusive reference to criminal law, criminal procedure and evidence, as they appear in the Revised Statutes of Canada. The Acts relating to the same subjects passed in the session of 1887 have been added in the form of an appendix. It must be noted that very many of the general laws of Canada, included in the Revised Statutes. contain penal clauses. Such clauses are not to be found in this volume, but recourse must be had to the Revised Statutes where the Acts containing them appear at length. The paging in the Revised Statutes of the Acts contained in this volume has been retained, and will be found in the figures at the bottom of each page. The marginal reference inclosed in brackets are to Acts of the Parliament of the United Kingdom corresponding to the text opposite to which they are respectively placed. The following table will show the years of the christian era corresponding to the years of the sovereign's reign in the Acts in such marginal references, and in the Canadian statutes given in the text at the end of each section: |
