Captivating is a book devoted to women and the daily struggles they face. In the first chapter, the Eldredges reveal the three core desires of women: to be romanced, to play a role in their own adventure, and to display beauty. They uncover these desires and explain them in detail throughout the book, using various references from different movies and popular novels. The lessons taught in this book are extremely important and relevant in the lives of women and girls of all ages, making this a valuable tool for anyone in need of a boost of encouragement. I would highly recommend Captivating to both men and women alike, as it gives insightful information regarding the weaknesses and struggles of women, and ways to overcome these struggles. The ideas presented are real and challenging, encouraging women to take a stand and push their faith to the next level, ultimately accepting themselves for who God made them to be. This wonderful co-written work by John and Stasi Eldredge should not be passed up.

I received this book as a gift. After reading it, it was a life changing book. It explains the feeling that i, as a woman, have, but can't explain why they are there. I bought several more for women at church as we are now doing a study through this book. Read full review

Do not care for how author describes things. There is just enough truth to make this teachable but one would have to dance around a lot of issues this book has. Greatly DISAPPOINTED! Read full review
