TO THE

EIGHTH EDITION.

THE great number of reported Cases which have appeared, and the several Statutes which have been passed on the subject of Bankruptcy, since the last Edition of this work was published, have rendered the preparation of this Edition a work of some labour. The Editor has endeavoured to introduce the new matter, and to make such alterations as the present state of the law rendered necessary, with as little change in the form or bulk of the work as possible; but, although apparently a reprint, considerable alterations have been made, with a view of bringing the subject down to the present period, many New Forms have been added to the Second Part, and the work has been carefully revised throughout.

The Practice and necessary Forms used in the case of a trader with his sureties entering into a Bond under the 1 & 2 Vict., c. 110, s. 8, though, perhaps, not strictly within the subject of the work, yet, as pertaining to the practice of the Court of Bankruptcy, have been added, in a short Appendix, to the Second Part.

Hilary Term, 1840.
