The series of the Common Bench Reports (which is now completed) having reached to the number of eighteen volumes, the Reporter has thought the advent of a new Chief Justice a convenient opportunity for the commencement of a “ New Series."
He has been somewhat influenced in this determination by the prospect of certain contemplated changes in the Law, which will probably take place in the ensuing Session of Parliament, and which it is thought will have an important influence upon the business of the Court of Common Pleas.
In order to render the - Common Bench Reports” more complete, the Reporter has prepared a Digest of the principal matters contained in the eighteen volumes, which is now in the press, and will be ready for publication very shortly.
This Digest will embrace all the decisions of the Court under the Act for the Registration of Voters, 6 & 7 Vict. c. 18, from its passing, down to the present time; and also all the decisions upon the Act for the Abolition of Fines and Recoveries, 3 & 4 W. 4, c. 74. These, it is hoped, will render the Digest more acceptable and more practically useful.
