The rapid sale of the whole of the former volumes of this edition of the Legislative Acts of the Governor-General of India in Council
, and the frequent demands that have been made for a supplemental volume, which should bring the collection down to the latest possible date, will form a sufficient excuse for my present re-appearance before the public. I can lay claim to no greater merits than those of labor and accuracy. But
