Acts 17.11. These were more noble than those in

Thefalonica, in that they received the word 'with all readines of mind, and searched the Scripfures daily, whether those things were so. V.12. Therefore many of them believed: also of the honourable women, which were Greeks, and

Luke 10.26. What is written in the Law ? home

readest thon? Rom.15.4. For whatsoever things were written

afore time, were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scrip

tures might have hope, Deut. 17.18. And it shall be, when he fitteth upon

the Throne of his Kingdome, that he hall write him a copy of this Law in a book, aut of that

which is before the Priests the Levites. V.19. And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the daies of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord, bis God, to keep all the words of this Law, and these ftatnies to de

them. Pfal.19.7. The Law of the Lord is perfect con

verting the soul; the Testimony of the Lord is

his way ? by taking heed thereto according to V.105. Tby word is a lamp unto my feet, and a

light into my paths. V.139. The entrance of thy words give! h light,

Mac.4.4. But he answered and said, it is written,

man shall not live by bread alone, but by every

Brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given unto him, hath written unto you. V.16. As also in all his Epistles, speaking in

them of these things : in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned, and unstable, wrest, as they do also the

other Scriptures, unto their own destruction. Mac.22.29. Filus answered, and said unto them,

richly, in all wisdom, teaching, and admonishing one another in psalmes, and hymnes, and spiritual songs, singing with Grace in your hearts to ihe Lord.

Fourthly, Live continually as in the view of God, as in his fight and presence, being careful to approve thy heart, and all thy waies unco him. Remember chere is a broad, and a pure eye of Glory alwaies fixed upon thee God sees hearts, as we fee faces. There are three things in the heart of man co be especially heeded, and observed. Principles, Projects, and Ends. God fees whac Principles chou actest from. Hee sees all the projects aud contriqsances char ære farging in thy


breaft, and he sees wbac are the ends thou aimest ac in all thy undertakings. That is pure

Religion, that eies God rather than man. In all Ś by actions therefore, whether natural, moral,

or spiritual, be carefull fill to designe the Glory of 1. God.

1. In naturall Afts, labour to have superna. tural aimes, 1 Cor.10.31. Whether ye cat, or -, drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the Glory of God.

2. In civill Atts, such as the discharge of che duties of thy relacions, be careful so co walk as designing that God may have Glory by thy Faichtulnesse. For fo the Apostle advisech, Eph. 6.1. Children obey your Parents in the Lord, for this is right. V.s. Servants be obedient to them that are your Masters, according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in fingleneß of heart as unto Christ. V.6. Not with eie-service as men.pleaJers, but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. And Titus 2.9,10. Exhort Servants to be obedient to their own Masters, and to please them well in all things, not answering again. 1.10. Not purloyning, but shewing with good fidelity, that they may adorn the Doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
