In the year 1879 there will be two eclipses of the Sun, and one of the Moon.

I.-An annular Eclipse of the Sun, January 22nd, invisible in New Hampshire. It will be visible from the southern and eastern part of South America; from the southeastern part of Africa; from the South Atlantic and Indian oceans, and from the southwestern part of Asia. II.-An annular Eclipse of the Sun, July 19th, invisible in New Hampshire, but visible from all except the southern extremity of Africa; from the southern parts of Europe and Asia, and from the greater part of the Atlantic and Indian oceans.

III-A partial Eclipse of the Moon, December 28th, invisible in New Hampshire. The greater part of this Eclipse is between the hours of nine in the forenoon and two in the afternoon, mean time at Concord, consequently can be visible only from the opposite part of the Earth.
