In the year 1878 there will be two eclipses of the Sun, two of the Moon and a Transit of Mercury.

J.-An annular Eclipse of the Sun, Feb. 2nd, invisible in New Hampshire.

II. A partial Eclipse of the Moon, Feb. 17th, partly visible, as follows:

III. A total eclipse of the Sun, July 29th, visible as a partial eclipse, as follows:

This is the fourth return of the total eclipse of 1806. IV. The moon will rise partially eclipsed on the evening of Ang. 12th, and the eclipse will end at 45 minutes past 8 o'clock. There will be a Transit of Mercury over the Sun's dise, May 6th, as
