EXHIBIT B

DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR,
UNITED STATES LAND OFFICE,
Missoula, Mont., January 4, 1901.

The following exhibit is submitted as additional and supplemental to the detailed lists of lands examined and classified by the board of commissioners, shown on Exhibit A, of even date herewith.

CHARACTER AND DESCRIPTION OF COUNTRY

The greater portion of T. 11 N., R. 19 W., lies in the rough foot hills, and is fairly well timbered. Many settlers have located in this township, and it is distinctively a nonmineral one. Some old abandoned prosepet holes were found in this township, on what would be section 27. This work was done by ranchmen who mistook some worthless spar for quartz. Nothing of value was found, and the locations, if any, were abandoned some five years ago.

The west half of township 11 N. R., 18 W., is similar in character to the above, the formation being lime. About the middle of this township, extending north and south, is the summit of the divide between the Bitter Root and Rock Creek Valleys. East of this divide the formation is more broken, there being much slate and some granite mixed with the lime. On the Rock Creek side much prospecting has been done, and sufficient evidence of mineral found to justify the mineral classification.

I hereby certify that the foregoing report, Exhibits A and B, is a true and correct duplicate record of the lands examined and classified by Jule M. Hartley, one of the members of the board of mineral land commissioners for Montana, for the land district of Missoula, between the 1st and 31st days of December, A. D. 1900, both dates included, according to a report submitted to me by the said commissioner in compliance with the instructions of the Hon. Commissioner of the General Land Office, under act of Congress of June 6, 1900. G. O. FREEMAN,

Clerk to the Board of Mineral Land Commissioners for Montana.

GENERAL LAND OFFICE,
Washington, April 16, 1925.

I hereby certify that the annexed copies of reports, Exhibits A and B, dated November 5, 1898, are true and literal exemplifications of the originals on file in this office.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the seal of this office to be affixed, at the city of Washington, on the day and year above written.
