GENERAL PUBLIC ACTS

PASSED BY THE

NINETY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE

CHAPTER XXVI.

A further supplement to an act entitled "An act to prevent frauds by incorporated companies," approved April fifteenth, eighteen hundred and forty-six,

insolvent

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of Receiver of the State of New Jersey, That whenever any incorporated railroad railroad company in this State shall become insolvent, and companies the property of such company shall have passed into the the road hands of a receiver by order of the chancellor, in accord- to orders of ance with the act to which this is a supplement, the receiv-thaner shall, and he is hereby empowered to operate said railroad for the use of the public, subject at all times to the order of the chancellor; and all expenses incident to the ope- Expenses ration of said railroad, shall be a first lien on the receipts, lien on reto be paid before any other encumbrance whatever. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall be deemed a public act, and take effect immediately.
