The lease is perpetual, the lessees receiving all their assets and assuming all their obligations, and paying, in addition, $1,948,500 per annum for division among the stockholders of said companies. The lessees took possession of these roads December 1, 1871. The leased railroads west of Pittsburg, including the Pittsburg and Erie Railroad, have been transferred to the charge of the "Pennsylvania Company," a separate organization, having its domicile in Pittsburg.
