A CONSOLIDATION of the Practice before Magistrates out of Quarter Sessions having taken place by Jervis's Acts, 11 & 12 Vict. cc. 42, 43, which have now been in operation more than a year, the necessity for a publication containing a complete Collection of Forms and Precedents for practical use in all matters in a separate volume, distinct from the Practice, founded upon the Outlines of Forms in those Statutes, has been generally acknowledged by the Magistracy and their Clerks, and recently expressed to me by letter and otherwise. Some of the reasons with which this was urged are these: 1. That the uniformity in the present Practice requires 2. That the majority of the Forms in the Books of Prac- 4.
