PREFACE.

ONE reason why there are so many bad and careless Christians in every station is, that people forget to study those duties of Religion which particularly belong to themselves; although most persons are quick in seeing, as they think, the proper duties of others, especially if they be in a condition of life different from their own. There is a very plain and strict rule of right and wrong laid down in Scripture for all classes of men and women, if they would but give themselves to find it out, and to practise it: nor would there be so many bad masters, bad children, nor bad servants, if each class would look out in GOD's Word for what most concerns them.

This "CHRISTIAN SERVANT'S BOOK" is one of an intended Series of Books, for different classes of Christians, humbly designed to help them to eternal happiness, by the "way of GoD's commands." It is compiled by one who is "their Servant for JESUS' sake."

Easter, 1849.
