At the Parliament begun and holden at Westminster, on the
nineteenth day of August, Anno Domini 1841, in the Fifth
Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady VICTORIA, by
the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c.

And from thence continued by Prorogations to the 3d day of February 1842, being the
Second Session of the Fourteenth Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Ireland.

An Act to amend the Laws for the Regulation of the Trade of the
British Possessions abroad.

HEREAS an Act was passed in the Third and Fourth Years of the Reign of His late Majesty King William the Fourth, intituled An Act to regulate the Trade of the British Possessions abroad, herein-after designated as "The Pos- c. 59. sessions Act:" And whereas it is expedient to make certain Alterations and Amendments therein: Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, That, except as herein-after is provided, from and after the Fifth Day of July One thousand eight hundred and forty-three so far as relates to the British Possessions in North America, and from and after the Fifth Day of April One ment of Act. thousand eight hundred and forty-three so far as relates to the British Possessions in South America and the West Indies, and from and after the Fifth Day of July One thousand eight hundred and forty-three so far as relates to the Mauritius, this Act shall come into and be and continue in full Force and Operation for all the Purposes mentioned herein.
