An Act to equalize the Assembly Districts in the County of
Cumberland.

1. CHAPTER CCCCLI.

An Act to authorize the extension of the State Prison.

CHAPTER CCCCLII.

An Act to incorporate the Quarrymen's Benevolent Society of the city of Hudson.

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey, That Edward Foley, Patrick Hanly, Michael McDonough, Martin Keaden, Thomas Reilly, Thomas Doyle, John Crosby, Thomas McConnell, Michael Dolan, James Dunlevy and John Reilly, and their associate officers and members of the Quarrymen's Benevolent Society of the city of Hudson, and their successors, be and they are hereby constituted and declared a body corporate, in fact and in law, by the name, style and title of "The Quarrymen's Benevolent Society of the city of Hudson," and by that name they and their successors shall and may at all times hereafter be capable in law of having, purchasing, holding and possessing any lands, tene ments, hereditaments and personal estate purchased, devised or bequeathed by any person or persons, body politic or corporate, capable of making the same; to make all proper and needful by-laws for the regulation of its members and property, and also to have a common seal and use the same at pleasure, and also to have all the powers and privileges ennmerated in the first section of the act entitled "An Act concerning corporations," approved February fourteenth, eighteen hundred and forty-six; provided always, that the said corporation or body politic shall not at any time hold or possess property, real, personal or mixed, the net income of which shall exceed the sum of ten thousand dollars.

2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER CCCCLIII.

An Act to divide the township of Hamilton, in the county of
Mercer, into two election districts.

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey, That the township of Hamilton, in the county of Mercer, shall be divided into two election districts, as follows: all that part of the said township lying west of the following line, viz: commencing where the railroad Boundary of bridge of the Belvidere and Delaware railroad crosses the district. Assanpink creek; and running thence in a straight line to Chambers street; thence southerly by Chambers street and Dayton avenue to the Lamberton road; thence along said Lamberton road by Robert H. Wright's farm to the westerly line of said Wright's farm; thence along said westerly line and the easterly line of the Lalor farm to the Delaware and Raritan canal; and thence in a straight line to the Delaware river, to be the Chambersburg election district, and all that second elecpart of said township east of said line to be the Hamilton Square election district.

2. And be it enacted, That the registers and inspectors of omcers of; elections elected last November, shall preside at and conduct the elections in each of the above described districts, to be held in March, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, and the clerk of the township shall act as clerk of the district in which he lives, and the inspectors or judges of election of the other shall appoint some person who shall be a legal voter in the district to act as district clerk of said board, who shall be entitled to the same fees as the other clerks, and that this rule shall apply to all subsequent elections to be held in said districts so far as it regards the clerks.

3. And be it enacted, That the inspectors of registry and election elected in November eighteen hundred and sixty-seven shall act as judges of election at the next November election and the next March election in said districts, and that at the election to be held in March, eighteen hundred and sixtyeight, and at each succeeding March election, three persons shall be elected as judges of election for each election district for the term of one year, who shall possess the powers, be required to perform the duties, and be subject.
