Ry. The generation of the righteous shall be blessed.

Let us praise a man who was glorious in his generation, for God hath given him to be a blessing to all people, and hath established his covenant over him.

O God, who wast pleased to choose blessed Joachim, before all thy Saints, to be the father of thy Son's Mother; grant, we beseech thee, that as we venerate his solemn festival, so we may also experience his perpetual patronage.
