No. 2.

An Act

Authorizing Israel Walton, trustee under a certain deed of trust executed by Samuel Roland Fisher, deceased, late of the city of Philadelphia, to sell and convey certain real estate.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Israel Walton be, and he is hereby empowered, upon reasonable public notice, to sell at public sale, a certain plantation or tract of land, with the appurtenances, situated in the townships of Mooreland and Byberry, in the county of Philadelphia, containing seventy-seven acres and sixty-nine perches, more or less, being the same.. parcel of land which the said Israel Walton now holds in trust for the benefit of Martha E. Dawes, widow and relict of Samuel F. Dawes, and her children, under a certain deed of trust executed by Samuel Roland Fisher, late of the city of Philadelphia, deceased, and convey to the purchaser or purchasers thereof, the same estate which the said Samuel Roland Fisher had therein at the time of the execution of the aforementioned deed of trust: Provided, That the said trustee, before making such sale, shall enter into. recognizance with one or more sureties, in the Orphans' court of the city and county of Philadelphia, in such sum as the court may direct, conditioned for the faithful appropriation of the proceeds of such sale to the uses specified in the said deed of the said Samuel Roland Fisher, deceased, under the direction of the said court: And provided further, That before sale be made, the written consent of the said Martha E. Dawes be obtained and filed in the office of the Clerk of the Orphans' court aforesaid.

An Act

Concerning the proportion of the public money of the United States which Pennsylvania is entitled to receive under the act of Congress passed the twenty-third of June, one thousand eight hun. dred and thirty-six.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the State Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania be, and he hereby is authorized to receivefrom the Treasury of the United States, the money which the said commonwealth is entitled to receive under and by virtue of an act of the Congress of the United States, entitled "An act to regulate the deposites of the public money," passed the twenty-third day of June, in the year one thous and eight hundred and thirty-six, and to execute certificates of deposite therefor, pledging the faith of the state for the safe keeping and repayment thereof, according to the terms and provisions of the act of congress aforesaid.

SECTION 2. And that so much of the money received by the Treasurer under the authority of the first section of this act, as shall be paid by a draft or drafts, on any bank or banks of this commonwealth, shall remain where it is now, or may be deposited on the first day of January next, until other disposition shall be thereof made by law.

An Act

Making appropriations for the repairs of Canals and Railroads, and for paying the cost of motive power.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the sum of seventy thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated to defray the cost of repairs already made, or necessary hereafter to be made, on thefinished lines of canal and railroad, in order to prepare said works for the business of the coming spring, and for rebuilding the lock at Greensburg, on the Eastern division of the Pennsylvania canal; and that the further sum of forty thousand dollars be appropriated towards the expense heretofore incurred, or which may hereafter be required, to maintain the motive power on the Columbia and Portage railroads, and that the said several sums of money be paid out of any moneys now in the Treasury.

An Act

For the relief of the First National Dragoons of Montgomery county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in Gerteral Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That as soon as the troop of cavalry in Mon gomery county, known by the name of "The First National

Dragoons of Montgomery county," shall be duly uniformed and organized, according to the present militia laws of this commonwealth, it shall be the duty of the Brigade Inspector of the second brigade, second division, Pennsylvania militia, on his order, to draw from any of the arsenals in this commonwealth, where a sufficient number of unappropriated arms and accoutrements are deposited, the necessary number of swords, pistols and accoutrements for said company, and to have the same issued to the commissioned officers, for the use of the members thereof: Provided, such swords, pistols and accoutrements, shall be issued under such restrictions, provisions and security, as are now by law required.

No. 6.

An Act

In addition to the act incorporating the Beaver Meadow Railroad and Coal company, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the time heretofore fixed for the extension of the Beaver Meadow railroad from Mauch Chunk to Easton, is hereby prolonged for seven years.

SECTION 2. That the Beaver Meadow Railroad and Coal company shall have like power and authority to convey passengers, transport the United States mail, goods, merchandise, and other commodities, on their railroad, which were granted to the Reading and Philadelphia Railroad company, by an act passed fourth April, eighteen hundred and thirtythree; and the like power and authority are hereby granted to the several companies who are authorized by their charters to intersect the Beaver Meadow railroad: Provided always,. Proviso. That it shall not be lawful for the company aforesaid, to

charge tolls upon the weight of any car, when its loading shall exceed one thousand pounds, and the legislature reserves the right to reduce and regulate the tolls hereby authorized. sary for completing the works now authorized by law, for which increase subscriptions may be received by the directors, and certificates of stock issued, in the same manner, and subject to the same conditions, as the shares heretofore subscribed for: (Provided, That the capital of the said company shall in no case exceed two millions of dollars :) And further, That the said Little Schuylkill and Susquehanna Railroad company shall have power, and the directors thereof are hereby authorized to contract with any coal company or companies, for the transportation of their coal on the said railroad, and to market.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That all transfers of the stock of the Tioga Navigation company hereafter to be made, may be made and done in such manner, and at such times and places as the board of managers of said company may by their by-laws prescribe and direct, and that so much of the act to which
