of taxes for the year eighteen hundred and forty eight, in the town. ship of La Salle, in the county of Monroe, is hereby extended to the fifteenth day of March next.

Sec. 3. A transcript of all unpaid taxes returned to the county taxes to audit'i treasurer, in pursuance of the foregoing provisions shall be returned general.

[ No. 26. ] AN ACT to authorize the Commissioner of the State Land Office

to sell certain University Lands. Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen. Com'r state tatives of the State of Michigan, That the commissioner of the authorized state land office be, and he hereby is authorized and directed to versity land

Sec. 2. It shall be the duty of the said commissioner to cause Duties of the said lands 10 be appraised prior to the sale thereof, by three dis. interested persons, residents of this state, under oath, and he shall give public notice of the time, place and terms of such sale, by rotices published in the newspapers printed at Toledo, and in the "De. troit Commercial Bulletin," "Detroit Daily Advertiser," and the "Monroe Ads ocate," thirty days at least prior to the day of such sale: and he may adjourn such sale from time to time, as often as he shall think proper, giving notice of the same as above prescribed.

Sec. 3. The said lands shall not be sold at a less price than their Lands to be appraised value as herein prescribed, nor in any case for a less sum minimum, than twelve dollars per acre, and the terms of payment therefor

in the state paper, and also in some newspaper printed in the county where said lands are situated, for six successive weeks previous to said sale, describing said lands so to be offered for sale, and stating therein the time and pluce where said lands will be so offered, and said commissioner may adjourn said sale from time to time, at his discretion, if he shall deem it for the best interests of the primary school fund.

land, to sell certain real estate. Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and Ilouse of Represen. w w Durtatires of the State of Michigan, That Wilkes W. Durkee, a mi- kee authonnor, of the county of Oakland, in the state of Michigan, be and certain he is hereby authorized and empowered to sell and convey the fol. coober lowing described piece or parcel of land, situate and lying in the CoGeneset county of Genesee and state of Michigan, viz: the east half of the south west qunrier of section iwenty eight, in the lownship of Mundy, and county of Genesee, as aforesaid, according to the United Siates survey, in as sufficient and ample a manner as if said Wilkes W. Durkee were of full age: Provided, That no such conveyance shall be of any effect unless the judge of probate of said county of Oakland, shall, under his hand and seal of his office, certify upon the back of said conveyance bis approval of the same.

authorized and empowered to issue a new warrant to the town ship treasurer of said town for the collection of the balance of taxes remaining uncollected in said township in consequence of the sickness of said township treasurer, which said warrant shall require the said treasurer forthwith to collect all such taxes as may remain unpaid on the tax list in his hands, and pay over all such portions thereof as were assessed for state and county purposes, to the treasurer of the said county of Lenawee, on or before the fifteenth day of April next; and for that purpose, the said township treasurer shall be ves!ed with all the powers, and subject to the same liabilities as upon the
