DISCOURSE CONCERNING THE INVENTIONS OF MEN IN THE WORSHIP OF GOD. BY THE RIGHT REV. DR. WILLIAM KING, LORD BISHOP OF LONDONDERRY. TO WHICH ARE ADDED, TWO ADMONITIONS ΤΟ THE DISSENTING INHABITANTS OF THE DIOCESE OF DERRY, CONCERNING A BOOK LATELY PUBLISHED BY MR. J. BOYSE. NORTHAMPTON: PRINTED BY C. S. ADKINS, HERALD OFFICE. A ADVERTISEMENT. It was the design of the Editor, in the first instance, to publish only the Treatise of Archbishop King, without his replies to Mr. Boyse, who attempted to answer it. However, upon a careful perusal of these replies, which are not added to the copy of the former Work published in the third volume of the London Cases, he found so much argument bearing, not only upon the subject of the original Treatise, but likewise upon several subjects to which the attention of Churchmen has been Providentially called by recent and invaluable tracts, that, although their re-publication doubled the size of the contemplated Volume, he determined that they should accompany it. N. B.-This accounts for a trifling addition to the price at first put upon the Volume. NORTHAMPTON, June, 1840. то ARCHIBALD ROBERTSON, ESQ., M.D. F.R.S. L. & E., CAN BE EXCEEDED ONLY BY HIS CONSISTENT ADHERENCE TO THOSE PRINCIPLES IN SUPPORT OF WHICH THE FOLLOWING PAGES WERE WRITTEN. THIS EDITION OF ARCHBISHOP KING'S TREATISE ON 66 THE INVENTIONS OF MEN IN THE WORSHIP OF GOD," IS, AS A SLIGHT TOKEN OF REGARD, DEDICATED BY HIS ATTACHED MINISTER, AND OBLIGED FRIEND, THOMAS WOTTON BARLOW. |
