but that of Christ, the Truth, as they get it direct from the fountain head. To develop the Spirit of God that seems to dwell within.

If the Kingdom of God is within, as well as without, then the King must be within as well as elsewhere: our search is to find it within, and then we shall know the King wherever we go; for it is impossible to get outside of the Kingdom, it fills Heaven and earth.

The only way we get into the Knowledge of what anything is, is to begin to do it ourselves. What anyone has done, we can do; for God is no respecter of persons. Where anyone has gone, the conclusions they have reached, or mental elevations they have attained, are for us all, if we persevere; for God is no respecter of places, conditions or circumstances.

The first lessons have told us how to begin to practice upon ourselves, by holding the true thoughts about God, and we should begin to be like God: and now as we begin to send the true thoughts about God to others, they begin to be like God. It is none of our business whether they receive the words or not. It is our place to go, preach the gospel, heal the sick. Suppose they don't seem to receive it at once, what has that to do with you or me?

We are under orders from the King, and he sends us with a message. What have we to do about their hearing or not hearing? That is their business; that is between God and them and not between God and us. It may be that they have a message of more urgent despatch for us. may be that the reason the King sent us there was to receive a message instead of to deliver one. We may have thought at the time that our business was urgent and we hasten, but in fact everyone in the world has a message for you and me, and you and I have a message for everyone else and so we need not hasten, for our work lies all

Teaching and treating are one and the same thing. As God is One and his law is One. Hold the six studies in your mind and it is the strongest possible treatment you can give yourself or anyone else. What we hold in our mind, firmly and steadfastly, is what strikes other people with conviction. We need not talk to them very much.

In fact we talk less and less, the further we get into the Kingdom of Peace, but we hold in silence to the Power of the Word. The Power of God is the same thing for the Word is God and God is Word. Word is Power, and the kind of Words we hold will develop the power we have.

The Word and thought is the same, we can't speak any word unless we first think to do so. Think right in your heart and your mouth will continually show forth the Truth. You need not watch the words that your mouth speaks, but watch the words that your heart speaks.

Send everybody the Words of Truth, or the Words of God. Think them silently in your Mind, learn them by heart. Tell them one by one, all your friends or any of your friends or acquaintances or anyone that you feel drawn to, that you have found the Truth that will set them free. Treat anyone that comes to you in thought or in person, just the same as you would talk to them aloud.

The difference between teaching and treating is that one is done audibly and the other silently. In teaching, speak out loud. In treating, speak silently. You will find in some instances that it is better to treat the patients awhile before they are taught; the spoken word seems to be most too strong food for them. Those that seem delicate should be handled tenderly at first, until they are made strong and vigorous with the Word of Truth.

Handle all cases very gently and kindly, for they all need that sort of treatment, and it is ordinarily better for patients to be treated than taught. Tell them you will teach them when they get well, and sometimes you will be astonished at the progress they make: of course you know they are well all the time, but it is for them to know it-to realize it.

Be wise with the wisdom of Jesus: you get wise by thinking the Truth and by doing it, practicing it.

Some one comes to you for treatments and for this purpose a formula will be given, or an example. A lady comes to be treated, says she has a tumor, saw some one that had a tumor, thought it the worst thing she ever saw and has been afraid she would have one just like it; or her mother had one and she expects it is in the blood, etc., etc.; has tried everything and gets no better but rather worse, never thought about it at all until she saw that one or heard about it; and so she tells you all about it. She has been taking on conditions from some one, something that she has seen or heard or felt has made such an impression on her mind that it seems to begin to reproduce itself on her body. She has been catching a false picture from some imaginary source and thinking it was true; and now you are to let her catch the Truth from you, and it will instantly erase the false.

It is the Truth as we have it and show it that strikes other people. It is not so much what we do, as what we think, that heals our bodies and other peoples'. And not so much what we think when we are treating and teaching, as it is what we think when we are not thinking about the Truth. In reality we are not thinking at all unless we are thinking the Truth. We are spending that time in vain.

Never let any unclean, impure thoughts enter and take possession of your mind, any more than you would let a

tramp, dirty and ragged, go into your parlor or into your best and cleanest rooms. If you are able to receive him at all, let him wash and clothe himself properly; but don't be run over by insolent or earthly considerations.

Seat your patients to be treated, as though you were going to have a pleasant chat. Don't look at them particularly or tell them about the Science; what you have to say should be done silently, rely entirely upon Mind. Let them do the talking, but keep them to the point as much as possible and when they get off on some other subject, skillfully bring them back again. They are generally only too glad to find some one that they can tell all their troubles to, and as you get on in the Science you will know that the suppression of these thoughts has had more to do than any one supposed in producing the diseases and discords. You may not be very successful in your first few cases in holding them to the point, but you will soon learn to hold them to the subject in hand, for one of the features of the Science is the learning to concentrate the thoughts on any subject. And there is no subject at the present time so interesting as health and happiness. Concentrate your thoughts upon the power of God, Mind, Truth. Let your patients talk about their tumors or whatever they think is their trouble. Let them open their minds to you just as freely as they will, on the subject. You may not be able to catch the drift of their talk at first, but you will soon learn to catch on, as the expression is; you will soon learn to know what particular form of wrong thoughts they have been indulging in, that has produced this thing they call a tumor.

As you come in contact with different cases you will unconsciously compare, analyze and understand them, and how to reach them. A study of birds, flowers, minerals and, in fact, everything is by object lessons. And a study of mental conditions, in

the present stage of development, is by coming in actual contact with the different states, and learning intuitively or spiritually what to do.

At first we start out speaking or treating from a general standpoint, but that soon changes and we learn to treat each case individually. And for this reason it is better to teach and treat students and patients separately, as each case needs a little different handling; needs to have its individuality brought out; needs to be developed or renewed or made over. This may seem a slow way, but it's the way nature works and she is the safest guide we have to go by.

No specific rule can be laid down for the guidance of anyone, for any length of time; we are told to lean on God, Immortal Mind, alone. This Science teaches everyone to think for himself. The power is in the individual thought and it is for the purpose of developing that, in each one, that the lessons are given.

Some think it is not good for the Science and Scientists to be cut up into so many schools, but that is the very life of the Science. As each grows and ripens they must get out of the way for others; to stop anywhere is stagnation, and we all know what that leads to.

Some cases seem to be reached much sooner than others. Some just need a word and they understand, while others seem much slower. As we get along the way these things will not be a cause of stumbling, but will be understood. Some kinds of dirt, paint, grease, seem to refuse to come off from the hands, while sand comes off as soon as it is dry; and just so some cases hear and obey, while others do not obey, and all one can do is to keep showing them the object lesson until they catch the meaning. These lessons are merely pictures held up be
