SIXTH STUDY IN CHRISTIAN SCIENCE.

W

ORSHIP God.

Offer the incense of a pure heart to the I Am. Think your purest, holiest, happiest thoughts in the Holy of Holies, in the Sanctum Sanctorum. Where no one goes but yourself, and where you take off your shoes when you approach the place where He has written His

name.

Offer up your sweetest and freshest thoughts to your God, worship Him in secret.

Prepare yourself for your meeting with God, as the bride and bridegroom prepare themselves for one another. Wash yourself with the Words of Truth.

Sprinkle yourself with the most precious and delicate perfumery, pure, clean thoughts. So that when you come into the presence of the King, he may smell sweet odors, he may delight in thy presence.

Open your treasures and present him with gifts, of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Jesus saith unto them, Have you understood all these things? they say unto him, yea, Lord. Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the Kingdom of Heaven, is like unto a man that is a householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasures things new and old.

And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a sweet savor: And the Lord said, in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth: neither will I again smite any more everything living as I have done. Take of God's treasures, array thyself in purple and fine linen. Think God's thoughts cver again. Think the Lord's thoughts and you will find his burden easy and light.

Jeremiah says, that a man's word is his burden, and if this is so, why carry any words in your mind but the sweetest, purest, holiest and happiest words you can think?

Talk to God. Commune with God. Lean on God. Wait in the silence for Him. As lovers delight to get alone and be together, so we are told to go alone with the Holy One. Retire into thy inmost self and let the High and Holy One dwell there. Know that I dwell every where, and those that seek me shall find me; for I am the only one that really exists.

As we get into the understanding of Truth, we bear fruit. A Tree is known by its fruit. By their fruits ye shall know them. A Good tree does not bear evil fruit and an evil tree does not bear good fruit. Neither does a fountain send forth sweet and bitter water at the same time.

What is the result of understanding Truth?

What is the fruit of the Spirit?

It is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, good. ness, faith, meekness, temperance.

Have you understood these things? Happy are you if you do them, well are you if you do them.

The more we understand God, the more life, health, strength, we express; for God is Life, God is Health, God is Strength.

The more we understand the Truth, the more we know that we always stand, live, in the presence of Jehovah, and that its most powerful names are Mercy, Charity, Love. God is Good, his Mercy endureth forever.

Charity thinketh no evil. Charity never faileth. Other things may fail, but Charity never faileth. If it could fail it would not be Charity.

God never faileth if we trust. No one need fear to trust God to the very end, for God never fails to those that so trust; but he seems to put us to the test, to find out whether we are trusting him or not.

He will not accept anything less than the whole heart, the whole mind, the whole spirit.

It is good for us to trust God, when we begin to understand how to trust.

It makes our heart beat faster, it makes our mind more active, to know that we have a Father in whose presence we always are, a Mother that it is our delight to serve and wait upon.

The Living, Loving Good that watches over us with a tender watchful care; that caresses us and cherishes us and that will never leave us nor forsake us; that says I will be in that place where my name is recorded. I am everywhere present. You may not have been aware of this, or you may have been unconscious of it, but now it is for you to become conscious of it by writing it down in your conscious mind.

All our learning heretofore seems to have been to bring us to a consciousness of the material, physical senses; these lessons are for the purpose of showing us that in reality our senses are spiritual. As there seems to be a
