AN ORDINANCE FOR GRANTING TO THE LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR CERTAIN SUMS OF MONEY TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF THE TERRITORIES FOR THE TWELVE MONTHS ENDING AUGUST THIRTY-FIRST, ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND NINETY-SEVEN, AND FOR COMPLETING THE EXPENSES OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE FOR THE TWELVE MONTHS ENDED AUGUST THIRTY-FIRST, ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND NINETY-SIX, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES RELATING THERETO. [Assented to October 30, 1896.] MAY IT PLEASE YOUR HONOUR: Whereas it appears by message from His Honour Charles Herbert Mackintosh, the Lieutenant-Governor of the North-West Territories, and the estimates accompanying the same, that the sums hereinafter mentioned in the schedule to this Ordinance are required to defray certain expenses of the public service of the Territories, and for other purposes relating thereto, for the twelve months ending August thirtyfirst, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, and for completing the expenses of the public service for the twelve months ended August thirty-first, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six: May it therefore please Your Honour that it may be enacted, and it is therefore hereby enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Territories, as follows: (1) From and out of the fund at the disposal of the North-West Government, there shall and may be paid and applied a sum (not exceeding in the whole) three hundred and twenty-four thousand three hundred and seventy-five dollars and eighty-four cents, for defraying the several charges and expenses of the public service of the Territories for the twelve months ending August thirty-first, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, and for completing the expenses of the public service for the twelve months ended August thirty-first, one thousand eight hundred and ninetysix, as set forth in the schedule to this Ordinance; (2) The due application of all moneys expended under this Ordinance shall be duly accounted for. SCHEDULE. Sums granted to the Lieutenant-Governor, bv this Ordinance, for the twelve months ending August thirty-first, one thousand eight hundred and ninetyseven, and the purposes for which they are granted.
