6. To this end, Christ both died, and rose, and revived; that He might be Lord both of the dead and the living.

7. I was in the spirit on the Lord's day; and heard a great voice, as of a trumpet saying unto me, "I am Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last; I am He that liveth, and was dead, and behold I am alive for evermore."

8. Upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to eat bread, Paul preached unto them.

9. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship; and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

10. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is.

II. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto the Lord.

12. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go nto the house of the Lord.

13. As for me, I will come into Thy house in the multitude of Thy mercy, and in Thy fear will I worship toward Thy holy temple.

[Doxology, to be said by all.]

Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask and think, unto Him be glory in the Church, by Christ Jesus, throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

[Then all sitting, before the reading of a part of God's holy Word, let the Reader repeat these verses.]

Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify of Me.

Blessed are they which hear the word of God, and keep it.

[Here follows the reading of the Bible; after which, all rising, before prayer, let the Reader repeat these verses.]

Jesus saith unto them, I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven; For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.

[Then all devoutly kneeling, shall follow these prayers and responses.]

Let us pray.

(Reader.) The Lord be with you. (Response.) And with thy spirit.

O almighty God, our merciful Father, most humbly we would come before Thee as a Christian family, with our morning sacrifice of prayer and thanksgiving. We draw near to Thy mercy-seat in the name of Thy beloved Son, whom Thou hast appointed to be our Mediator and Advocate. While we are not worthy of the least of all Thy mercies, yet we trust in His merits for acceptance, and shelter ourselves under the shadow of His cross. Be pleased for His sake to look upon us with Thy favour, and visit us with Thy salvation.

(Response.) I will go in the strength of the Lord God; I will make mention of Thy righteousness: even of Thine only.

We give Thee all glory, Heavenly Father, for Thy watchful care during the past night; and for the many mercies surrounding us continually.

May this Thy holy day ever be a blessing to us : that, while resting from daily cares and labours, we may also find spiritual rest unto our souls. O send out Thy light and Thy truth, that they may lead us. May we grow in grace, and in the knowledge and love of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Awaken in us a deeper sense of Thy love in giving to the world a Saviour, able to save to the uttermost all that come unto Him. For His sake forgive us all that is past, blot out our transgressions, and no more remember our sins. Since He has borne the curse of sin for us, O take it away from each one of our hearts. Give us the full comfort of believing that we are reconciled unto Thee, and in Him are safe for ever.

(Response.) O Lord God Almighty, hear our prayer, and let our cry come unto Thee.

Holy Jesus, Saviour of the world, may Thy most precious blood shed upon the cross redeem us to life eternal. Make intercession for us at the right hand of God: cover our sins with Thy spotless righteousness and write all our names in Thy book of life.

Accept, good Lord, of our most grateful thanks for Thy wondrous work of mercy, atoning for our sins. We love Thee, because Thou hast first loved us. But we would love Thee also, for Thine own surpassing goodness. In Thee all fulness dwells of majesty and grace all beauty that we could desire of heart

and mind is Thine: we adore Thee, perfect in holiness, in love, and purity. We beseech Thee in all things to make us more like Thyself, daily more heavenly minded; that so Thou mayest see in us of the travail of Thy soul, and be satisfied.

(Response.) O Saviour of the world, who by Thy cross and precious blood hast redeemed us, save us and help us, we most humbly beseech Thee, O Lord. Holy Spirit of Truth, breathe on our souls the breath of life. Create in us a clean heart, and renew

a right spirit within us. Convert us, if we have turned from the right way. Carry on and complete in us the good work of Christ's redemption. Make us feel more our need of Him. Apply to our hearts with saving power all His merciful words. Make us Thy Temple; so may Thy sweet influence sanctify us wholly, fitting us to live with God hereafter. Grant us this day a spirit of prayer and supplication : that we may worship the Father in spirit and in truth. Bless to us every opportunity and means of grace, so that by these we may be preparing for that heavenly rest, which remaineth for the people of God; in His presence, where there is fulness of joy, and pleasures for evermore.

(Response.) Come, O Holy Ghost, into our hearts; guide us into all truth, and help us evermore to rejoice in Thy holy comfort.

O holy, blessed, and glorious Trinity; hear our prayers for the Church universal; that grace, mercy, and peace may be multiplied upon it. Especially we pray for that part of Thy Church to which we belong let it ever be guided in truth and holiness, for Thy glory and the saving of many souls.

Bless all who shall this day meet together in Thy From the hearts of our fellow-worshippers

name.

may true worship rise to Thee, in earnest prayer, and thankful praise. In the ministry of Thy word, may there be a message from Thee to each one of our souls.

Let Thy mercy lighten upon all who are dear to us in any branch of Thy visible Church; that they may be true members of Thy unseen and spiritual Church. Help them to fight the good fight of faith on earth, so as to obtain a crown of life hereafter in Thy Church Triumphant.

(Response.) Shew us Thy mercy, O Lord: and grant us Thy salvation.

[Here may be added any special Prayer or Collects.]

Now, O Lord our God, have compassion upon us, accepting these our prayers, which we would ever offer up to Thee in the holy words which Christ Himself hath taught us :

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

[Benediction, by the Reader.]

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with us all. Amen.
