Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary John Grant. of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of John Grant, alias William McKenzie, private Maddox Battalion, California Volunteers, Mexican war. Approved, December 15, 1890.

CHAP. 10.-An act for the relief of Martha A. Foster.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Martha A. Foster, widow of David A. Foster, late of Company I, Twelfth Michigan Infantry. Approved, December 15, 1890.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of George R. Wright, late captain of Company F, Forty-seventh Wisconsin Infantry, and that he be granted an increase of pension at the rate of seventy-two dollars a month. Approved, December 15, 1890.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of James S. Smith, late of Company I, Eighth Michigan Cavalry, and that he be granted an increase of twenty dollars per month, in lieu of the pension now received by him.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of James W. Lathe, late a sergeant of Company F, Ninth New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, December 15, 1890.

CHAP. 15.-An act granting a pension to George Everts.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized and directed to place upon the invalid pension roll the name of George Everts, late of Company A, Fifteenth Iowa Infantry Volunteers, the said pension to be subject to the limitations of the general pension laws at the rates to be established by the usual examination.

CHAP. 16.—An act to increase the pension of Stephen L. Kearney.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary Stephen L. Kearney. of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Stephen L. Kearney, late First Lieutenant Third Regiment United States Colored Troops, a pension of twenty-five dollars, in lieu of the pension he is now receiving.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary Jerusha P. Harding. of the Interior be, and he is hereby, directed to place the name of Jerusha P. Harding, dependent foster-mother of William L. Harding, late a private in Company E, Forty-ninth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, on the pension-roll, and grant her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws.

Ferguson, of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll John S. Ferguson, of Keokuk, Iowa, late of Company F, twenty-eighth Regiment of Iowa Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension of seventy-two dollars a month, in lieu of thirtysix dollars a month now allowed said Ferguson for disability arising from loss of right arm at the elbow, partial deafness from concussion, and the shell wound received by him on April eighth, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, in the battle of Sabine Cross Roads, Louisi
