About the author (2004)

\Harold Strachan is a former South African Air Force pilot, an art teacher, and member of both the Communist Party and the Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), the armed wing of the African National Congress. He was imprisoned for four years and held under house arrest for a subsequent 10 years.
