[JOHN SCOTT, Governor.] WHEREAS it is desirable to make provision for the carrying into effect in this Colony of the "Naturalization Acts, 1870: "Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of British Guiana, with the advice and consent of the Court of Policy thereof, as follows: 1. It shall be lawful for His Excellency the Governor, by Proclamation, to establish any such Rules and Regulations as may be found necessary for the carrying into effect in this Colony of the Naturalization Acts, 1870," and in like manner to fix the fees to be taken in respect of all things done in this Colony in pursuance of the said Naturalization Acts. 2. AN ORDINANCE TO EXTEND THE TIME OF PAYMENT BY THE [Ord. 17 anno Enacted 18th November, 1871, published on the 25th [JOHN SCOTT, Governor.] WHEREAS at a meeting of the Honorable the Court of Policy Preamble. combined with the Financial Representatives of the Colony, held on the Twenty-ninth day of May, in the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy-one, there was read a petition from the Mayor and Town Council of Georgetown, whereby they prayed for an extension of time for the payment of the loan made to them by the Colony under the provisions of "The Cumingsburg North-west District Improvement Ordinance, 1866," according to a scheme for such extension attached to such petition, and hereinafter set forth; and whereas thereupon a Resolution was passed recommending that time for the payment of such loan should be granted to the Mayor and Town Council as prayed for by them, and that to meet the payment of the Bonds issued under the Ordinance, fresh Bonds should be issued, payable as His Excellency the Governor and the Court of Policy should be pleased to direct; and whereas it is necessary that an Ordinance should be passed for the purpose of carrying such resolution into effect: Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of British Guiana, with the advice and consent of the Court of Policy thereof, as follows: principal of 1.
