21. 23. As regards the appointment of the Inspector, and the performance of his functions under the third, fourth, and sixth sections hereof, and as regards the performance of the functions of the cember, 1866. TARIFF OF FARES FOR HACKNEY CARRIAGES.

From any one part to any other part of Georgetown, including stoppages, provided the whole time of use of the carriage does not exceed fifteen minutesfor one passenger, not more than 24 cents;-for each additional passenger, not more than 12 cents.

For any further distance, not more than one mile, out of Georgetown, addi. tional time to be not more than fifteen minutes-in addition to the above, not more than 36 cents.

For one person for the use of a carriage for each 15 minutes, or smaller portion of time-not more than 24 cents.

For each additional person for the whole time that the carriage shall be in use -not more than 12 cents.

Two children under 12 years of age shall count as one person.

The above are the fares that may be charged from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; from 7 p.m to 6 a.m. double fares may be charged.

Passengers may bargain for lower fares than the above, and drivers s hall bound by any bargains that they may enter into for lower fares.

[Ord. 4 anno AN ORDINANCE TO MAKE CERTAIN PROVISIONS RELATIVE 1867.] TO A PUBLIC LUNATIC ASYLUM, AND TO THE GENERAL ASYLUM AND HOSPITAL, BERBICE.*

Preamble.

Enacted 3rd October, 1867, published the 5th following, came into operation on publication.

to a Public Lunatic Asylum in this Colony, and to the General Asylum and Hospital, Berbice: Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of British Guiana, with the advice and consent of the Court of Policy thereof, as follows:

II.
