Where a Maryland building association made a loan secured by mortgage on land in this District, and it was expressly stipulated by the parties that the loan was made with reference to the law of Maryland, and the result of an accounting here between the parties was found to be the same under our law as under the law of that State, the rule adopted there was followed, with the statement, however, by this court that in so doing it was not to be understood that the court acquiesced without reservation in the theory that all of the incidents of mortgage in this District can be made referable at the will of the parties to the laws of other States, and that the court is always to be governed by such laws in their construction. 2.
