GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSES OFFERED IN THE SENIOR-COLLEGE CURRICULUM.

The senior-college curriculum in home economics includes in the first two years all those home-economics courses offered in the juniorcollege curriculum. In the third and fourth years advanced courses are offered dealing with research problems in home economics along the lines of the student's major interests. These courses may be in foods, clothing, care of the family, community hygiene, or institutional work. They should be so developed as to add to the student's breadth as an observer and her efficiency as a teacher and administrator.

Science courses in the senior college.-These courses should bear close relation to the courses in home making which the student is pursuing and should help her to understand problems of health and sanitation that present themselves in home and community life.

Professional courses in education. The courses in educational psychology and principles of teaching offered in the senior college are postponed until the third year so that the students can approach them with a more mature judgment and a richer background of information. The professional courses offered in the junior college should not be substituted for the courses offered in the senior college, nor should the junior and senior college students pursue these courses in the same classes.

Electives. The committee did not attempt to determine the electives which will be offered during the last two years of the seniorcollege course. In many cases these will be largely determined by the teaching facilities within the school.
