The Jeffrey Improved Split Iron Pulley is the result of Jeffrey quality of workmanship and years of experience in the manufacture of iron pulleys. Its improved bushing system and large range of standard bores make it a pulley not to be excelled, if equalled, by any other on the market. It is made for stock purposes, and is a valuable asset to the dealer, because he can quickly furnish a pulley which will meet the requirements of the most particular user of power transmission appliances. The pulley is perfectly machined and balanced, and stays true. It is split after being cast whole, and when clamped on the shaft the rim is as round and true as that of a highly finished solid pulley. Why You Should Use the Jeffrey Improved It can be secured quickly from stock, at a reasonable price. It saves time and expense, because it can be readily clamped on shaft without disturbing other equipment. Its clamp hub with large gripping surface makes keyseating un necessary. When necessary to change location of equipment, pulley can be used on other size shafts by the use of new bushings. Being split, it can be quickly removed from shaft. This feature gives it great advantage over the solid pulley, which is very difficult to remove from shaft after being in service for any great length of time. The Jeffrey Improved Split Iron Pulley Bushing is cast and finished in one piece, so that its exterior and interior surfaces fit respectively, the bore of the pulley and the surface of the shaft for a maximum of gripping surface. All bushings are sawed into halves at the factory, requiring no fitting by the purchaser to put the pulley into service, other than to bolt it into place and turn down the set screws through the bushings to the shaft. With the Jeffrey combination of long and short bushings, practically the full length of the pulley hub is maintained as a gripping surface. Jeffrey Solid and Split Iron Pulleys These pulleys, while embodying all the qualities of machining as noted above, are designed not only along theoretical lines to meet the strains of driving, but are also designed along those practical lines which long experience has dictated for rough and exact service. When ordering pulleys with offset hubs, specify same relative to centre line of pulley.
