buoys, the erection of lights and the maintenance of same upon the inland waters of the state, and that the sum of twelve hundred and fifty dollars, be, and hereby is, appropriated for the fiscal year beginning July first, nineteen hundred twenty-four, for the same purposes.

Chapter ninety-four of the resolves of nineteen hundred twenty-three, is hereby repealed.

Chapter 122.

Resolve, Appropriating Money for Maternity and Child Welfare Work.

Maternity and child welfare work, appropriation for. Resolved: That there be, and hereby is, appropriated the sum of ten thousand dollars for the fiscal period beginning July first, nineteen hundred twenty-three, and ten thousand dollars for the fiscal period beginning July first, nineteen hundred twenty-four, for maternity and child welfare work in the state of Maine, same to be expended by the commissioner of health under the direction of the governor and council.

Chapter 123.

Resolve, Making an Appropriation for the Construction of a New Building at the Northern Maine Sanatorium, Presque Isle, Aroostook County, and for the Purchase of Equipment Therefor, and for Maintenance.

Northern Maine Sanatorium, new building and maintenance. Resolved: That there be, and hereby is, appropriated for the year from July first, nineteen hundred and twenty-three, to June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-four, the sum of fifty thousand dollars to be expended under the direction of the board of trustees for tuberculosis sanatoriums, and the governor and council, in constructing and equipping a new building at Northern Maine Sanatorium, at Presque Isle.

Provided, that any balance of the sum above appropriated for the year from July first, nineteen hundred and twenty-three, to June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-four, which may remain unexpended at the end of the year, shall be available for expenditure during the following year.

Be it further resolved: That there be, and hereby is, appropriated for the Northern Maine Sanatorium for general maintenance, the sum of thirty-five thousand dollars for the year from July first, nineteen hundred and twenty-four, to June thirtieth, nineteeen hundred and twenty-five.

Chapter 124.

Resolve, Making an Appropriation for Expenses of Dedication of the KitteryPortsmouth Memorial Bridge.

Kittery-Portsmouth bridge, dedication exercises. Resolved: That there be, and hereby is, appropriated the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars to be spent under the direction of the governor and council, and the legislative committee appointed to act with the governor and council, in connection with the dedication of the Kittery-Portsmouth memorial bridge, for the purpose of providing for suitable exercises at said dedication.

Chapter 125.

Resolve, to Aid the Town of Naples in the Construction of a Bridge Across Chute River.

Town of Naples, bridge across Chute river. Resolved: That the sum of five thousand dollars be, and hereby is, appropriated to aid the town of Naples in the construction of a bridge across the Chute river, so-called, in the town of Naples, the said bridge to be a part of the Roosevelt highway. This appropriation shall be taken from the state highway and bridge loan funds. The money made available by this resolve shall be spent under the direction of the state highway commission and may be used any time during the two fiscal years beginning July first, nineteen hundred and twenty-three, and ending June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-five. Application shall be made by the town of Naples in accordance with the provisions of the bridge act.

Chapter 126.

Resolve, for the Pay of the Chaplains of the Senate of the Eighty-first Legislature.

Senate chaplains, compensation. Resolved: That there be, and hereby is, appropriated the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to be paid to the chaplains of the senate of the eighty-first legislature in accordance with the list filed with the treasurer of state, having been certified to by the secretary of the senate.

Chapter 127.

Resolve, Making Appropriation for the Support and Maintenance of the State

Experiment Station.

State experiment station, appropriation. Resolved: That there be, and

hereby is, appropriated the sum of ten thousand dollars for the fiscal year commencing July first, nineteen hundred and twenty-three, and ten thousand dollars for the fiscal year commencing July first, nineteen hundred and twenty-four, to be expended under the direction of the Maine agricultural experiment station for supplementing and making more effective the work now being carried on by said station under the federal grant known as the "Hatch act."

Claims, appropriation in payment of. Resolved: That there be appropriated and paid to the several persons hereinafter named the sums set opposite their respective names, amounting in the aggregate to the sum of thirty-two thousand, nine hundred seventy-five dollars thirty-four cents, being the amounts recommended by the committee on claims to be allowed on the several claims presented to said committee.
