OPINIONS OF THE PRESS.

"A capital Hand-book of the Scotch Code. Its summary of the history of Scotch National Education is clear and interesting." School Board Chronicle.

"There can be no doubt of the thoroughness with which the work has been done. The authors have supplied, that is to say, all the material that is necessary for understanding the Code as it stands. . . . By way of Introduction, there is a good historical sketch of educational legislation affecting Scotland. .. The book contains a great mass of useful information."-The Scotsman, 28th April, 1876.

"We recommend the volume warmly. The analysis and explanation of the Code are full and complete. . . . A better aid to the understanding of the system than the volume before us could not be desired."-Dumfrieshire and Galloway Herald and Register, 20th May,

1876.

"It is a book which every teacher and every member of a School Board should possess, and thoroughly study. It seems to contain all the information requisite to a thorough understanding of the working of the Act of 1872."-The Dundee Advertiser, 8th May, 1876.

BLACK BOARD DIAGRAMS.

The chief characteristic of these Diagrams is the amazing distinctness with which the Letters for Reading and Writing are placed before the eyes of the Pupils.

High-coloured Diagrams tend to dazzle, and, too often, confuse the eye.

Black Board Diagrams are exceedingly helpful to both Teacher and Pupil, and very effective for the purposes for which they are intended, No Infants' School should be without them.

Mounted on Boards, ready to hang up, they are 1s. each; or, unmounted, 4d. each. There are 10 in each set for Reading and Writing.
