to Addrefs our Selves to this Honourable Houfe with our moft humble Thanks, for your Excellent Conduct of Affairs in the time of our great Emergency and Extremity, when our Religion, our Lives, and Estates were fo eminently threaten'd, and especially for your Addrefs to His Majesty the 5th Inftant, Declaring your Refolution to Affift and Stand by His Majefty in Supporting his Allies Abroad, in reducing Ireland, and in Defence of the Proteftant Religion, and Laws of this Kingdom,

Refolv'd, That the Thanks of this Houfe be return'd by Mr. Speaker in the Chair. The Sheriffs were call'd in, and Mr. Speaker gave them the Thanks of the House accordingly in thefe Words.

Gentlemen,

"The Houfe hath confider'd of the Addrefs you have prefented from the City of London, and have Commanded me to return you this Anfwer. "That they have taken Notice of the most ' eminent Courage and Conftancy the City hath fhew'd in this late Revolution, and the Services "they have done to the whole Kingdom on this Occafion, and particularly the advancing fuch a confiderable Sum of Money as was Lent by you to His Majefty upon his firft coming hither, at a time when the Condition of the Affairs of the Kingdom did fo much require it.

I am further Commanded to tell you, that this 'Houfe doth accept of your Addrefs with great Kindness, and do give you hearty Thanks for the fame, with this further Affurance, That your Care for the Publick fhall never fail of receiving from them the like Returns.

Report about the Charges of the Dutch towards King William's Expedition.

R. Hamden Reports from the Committee, That they had taken into Confideration His Majefty's Speech, and particularly touching Holland, and had directed him to acquaint the Houfe, that there has been an Accompt deliver'd in of the Charge laid out by the Dutch in the Expedition for England, and the Accompt was Read, and is as follows,

The Charges of the Fleet according to the fame Accompt which has been deliver'd to the States General, ult. February 1683. N. S. No. do amount 2288464 Guilders. That most part of the Fleet having fince been continu'd in Service, fo that the 22d of March 168. N. S. Six Ships have been at Sea to carry back feveral Goods left at Exeter, and to tranfport His Majefty's Baggage, which being taken for half a Months Charge of the whole Fleet do amount 189616 G.

The Lofs of Two Ships, the Bomell and Aheuboon with 42 Guns, and all that was in the first except fome few Goods faved out of the Abeuboon 59500G. Provision, Hay, Oats, Sadies, making of Stables and other Charges laid out at Amfterdam, and upon the Coast of the South-Seas, where the Forces have been Imbarqued till their Departure from the Brill. 186000 G.

The Freight of the Merchant Ships that carry'd the Forces over, and all that belonged to it from the 10th of October 1688. N. S. till the 5th of March, being hindred to return, by reafon of the great Froft, to the Place where by Agreement they were. to be Difcharged, amount to

For Amfterdam every Month 157000 G.

For Rotterdam every Month 84000 G. And in all for 6 Months,and one 6th part 1245000 G. Some of them accidentally Caft away and Damag'd in the River of Exeter, and alfo taken by the French at nearest Guess, (for about this an Agreement must be made with the Owners) will come 60000 G.

Provifion bought when the Flect by Storm was brought back and other Charges paid at Rotterdam, Dort, Willemstadt, Helvoetsluice 157000 G.

For Pilots, befides thofe that ferv'd in the Thames, and leffer Charges of Pilots, taken in the whole Voyage, and the like

Freight to the Fifher Boats that Landed the Forces from the roth of Odober, till the 10th of February, with the Lofs of Six of them

Payment for French Proteftant Officers divided amongst the Regiments of Horfe and Foot 77346 G. Freight for a great Number of Boats taken up for the bringing of Stores, first to the General Rendezvous, and afterwards on Board the great Ships, 66960 G.

Quartering of Horfe, Dragoons and Foot Soldiers, 89624 G. 2 s. Stores Bought instead of thofe Loft by the Storm, 81264 G.

The Carts and Waggons that follow'd the Army, 169911 G.

Several Charges to thofe that follow'd His Majefty, and to the Forces that came over, and allo to the raifing of the Regiment of the Right Honourable the Lord Mordant, Sir Robert Peyton, Sir John Guife, and others,

250000 G. Payment of the Horfe &Dragoons 391430 G.195.8d. What has been Paid to feveral Princes for the Charges of raifing and fending their Forces, together with the ordinary Payment, amounts to
