A BILL To authorize a further Issue of Money in Aid of Public [Note.-The Words printed in Italics are proposed to be inserted in the Committee.] 5 HEREAS by an Act passed in the first and second years Preamble: of the reign of his late Majesty King WILLIAM the Fourth, intituled, "An Act for the Extension and Promotion of 1 & 2 W. 4, Public Works in Ireland;" and by another Act of the first c. 33. c. 88. c. 44. year of Her present Majesty, intituled, "An Act to amend the Acts for the 1 Vict. e. 21. Extension and Promotion of Public Works in Ireland ;" and by another Act of the first and second years of Her present Majesty, intituled, "An Act to authorize a further Issue of Exchequer Bills for Public 1 & 2 Vict. Works and Fisheries and Employment of the Poor, and to amend 10 the Acts relating thereto;" and by another Act of the sixth and seventh years of Her present Majesty, intituled, "An Act to amend 6 & 7 Vict. the Acts for carrying on Public Works in Ireland;" and by another Act of the present Session of Parliament, intituled, "An Act for the 9 Vict. c. 1. further Amendment of the Acts for the Extension and Promotion of Public Works in Ireland;" the Commissioners for the execution of the first-recited Act were authorized, with the consent of the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, to apply, by way of Grant, sums of money to a certain amount limited in the said recited Acts, in aid of Public Works in Ireland: And whereas the several sums 20 specified in the said recited Acts have been applied to the purposes therein stated: 15 And whereas in certain districts in Ireland the population is frequently in a state of destitution, and such districts are too poor 648. themselves t. Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland em. powered to make additional issues by way of Grant. 2. Extending provisions of former Acts to issues made under this Act. 3. Act may be amended during the present 5 themselves to bear the whole expense of Works of acknowledged 20 BE it therefore Enacted, by The QUEEN's most Excellent MAJESTY, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, 15 and by the Authority of the same, THAT it shall and may be lawful for the Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland acting in the execution of the said recited Acts, under the like provisions and regulations as are therein contained, to make such additional issues by way of Grant as they may be authorized to make by the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, to an amount not exceeding in the whole the sum of Fifty thousand Pounds, and for the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, or any Three or more of them, to cause to be issued from time to time, as they may find necessary, out of the Consolidated Fund of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, or by the issue of Exchequer Bills, in addition to the several sums specified in the above-recited Acts, any sum or sums of money not exceeding in the whole the said sum of Fifty thousand Pounds, to be applied for the purposes of the said Acts and of this Act, as the same are limited and described by this Act as aforesaid. 25 ვი And be it Enacted, That all and every the provisions, regulations, powers, privileges, advantages, forfeitures and disabilities contained or expressed in the said recited Acts, or any Act amending the same, in respect of the Grants authorized to be made thereunder, shall be ap- 35 plied and extended, so far as the same are applicable, to the Grants to be made under authority of this Act as fully and effectually, to all intents and purposes, as if the same were herein repeated and reEnacted. And be it Enacted, That this Act may be amended or repealed by any Act to be passed in this present Session of Parliament. Session. |
