We prefix to this months Magazine, a representation of the Commissioners for disposing of Papist's Lands, raffling for such estates as have been declared forfeited by the late alarming conspiracy, headed by Keegan the School-master.

THE THE Committee composed of the Doctor, Serjeant Biblemouth, General Sims, alias Suds, Corporal Firethatch, Mrs. Huddlestone, Jugsmeller Manning, esquire, Coombe Drury, and sixteen privates of the Major's Battalion of Testimony, met agreeable to notice, on Saturday evening last, at the Lodge-room in Exchange-court, to take into consideration the present condition of the Constitution, from the reports laid before them from Captain Huddlestone, through the medium of his partner the Wrestling Doctor, tending to develope the plans of Keegan the school. master, for building a fleet of man of war, raising an army of pikemen, and seizing on the Castle, for the purpose of separating the Irish people from their allegiance, and from the brotherly affection of their English fellow sub. jects, and erecting the County of

Gribbins.-Where have you come from? Doctor. From Mount Jerome. Gribbins. What have you been doing at Mount Jerome?

Doctor was dining there, abusing the Catholic Committee, Doctor Drumsnuffe, the Daggerman, Lord Fingal, Doctor Sheridan, and Watty Cox. Gribbins.Very good; Have you prepared your mind for the high ha nors and rewards, which a member of the Battalion of Testimony is entitled to, by giving every aid you can in all cases and conditions, to our happy Constitution in Church and State, as they are explained by the Major, and the charter of our institution?

Doctor.-The happiest act of my life, is to be admitted among your loyal fraternity.

Gribbins.Let the senior Deacon, the Tyler, and two Warders, administer the obligation against Popery.

These officers then proceeded in solemn form to the Crucifix chest, and from it took a carved representation of Christ on the Cross, and returning delivered it to Mr. Gribbins.

Gribbins -Doctor, take this in your right hand, spit on it three times, walk over it three times as the Dutch Christians did before in Japan, break it into twenty-one distinct parts, an you see them marked, and place the Intire in that pan of burning coals.

Doctor-Yes Worshipful Chair? the Doctor surrounded by the senior Deacon, the Tyler, and the two Warders, went through the ceremony with much appearance of religion and loy. alty and after being embraced by each of the Brethren, was declared a regular member of the Battalion of Testimony.

The Chairman then rung a small bell, and each Gentleman stood up. Gribbins.-1 have to announce to

of our

this honorable Ledge, that the long
apprehended popish conspiracy has
been detected, by the agency
absent brother the Captain, and our
new admitted member. Several
Depots, Dock-yards and pike-men,
have been discovered in various parts
of the island, but the designs of the
common enemy have been happily frus
trated, and our throats that were to be
cut on the ensuing sabbath have been
saved.

As the conspirators are about to pay with their lives for their crimes, I move you, as a precaution against future disputes, that we raffle for such of the traitors properties as can this night be ascertained, from the maps I now hold in my hand, drawn up and divided by our Surveyor Sans terre.

Doctor.-I move that the Lodge adjourns for half an hour to refreshe ment, and that the box, dice and maps, may be arranged in the meantime.

Gribbias. It is my will and plea sure, that this loyal Lodge do adjourn for refreshment. [Exeunt Omnes

our eyes,

Master Gribbins.-Gentlemen this is the first time I had the honor of your loyal company as a regular member, I shall not trespass on your time by many words, I beg to offer a toast which I think should ever be betoré and always in our memories; I have borrowed part of it from one of the greatest and most eloquent statesmen of the age, Earl Grey; I'll give our Orange Brethren, the Musquet and Wig Judges, whose labours tend to check the Superabundant Popish Population.

This was drank with becoming at

tention.

Doctor standing.-Gentlemen, I shall offer you the name of a gentle man, who like myself, had the good fortune to perceive the errors of his education; I allude to that great patriot Thomas Reynolds, Esq. Company-Thomas Reynolds, Esq. The Surveyor Mr. Sans-terre, enters the room, and informs the master, that the maps of the property confiscated, the dice and box are ready; on which notice the whole retire..

SCENE 3.-A room well-lit, and on a table appears maps, pens, ink, box and dice; and Sans-terre, with a roll in his hand.

Sans-terre. The first article to be disposed off to night is a range of Warehouses on the Merchants-quay, and an excellent new built Dwelling. house, in which the proprietor Nicholas Mahon, now resides; these premises are for lives renewable for ever, charged with a small annual rent; I hold in my hand a plan and elevation

of them.

Each gentleman is to have three throws, and he who throws most is to be the fortunate owner, as long as bibles are used on state affairs.

Gribbins as President took the box, and threw 41-Firethatch threw 49. Biblemouth threw 34-Bangbeggar 36-Master Gribbins 50.-Coombe

Drury 51.--Jugsmeller Manning 38.. -the Doctor threw 52-And was declated winner, and had the map handed over to him, many other per-. sons threw, but they were so low as not to be worth notice.

Sans-terre.-Gentlemen, the next is that valuable lot of ground with one front, in Strand street; another front in Liffey-street, with a back passage, leading into Jervis-street, on which are several valuable buildings, now in pos. session of Mr. Nihell, who carries on the Distilling business; with this goes Mr. Nihell's dwelling-house in Mountjoy-square. Let every gentleman try, his fortune except such as have won to night before.

On which the company threw in succession, and on inspecting the list the concerns were awarded to Jugsmeller Manning, as the highest in

number.

Sans-terre. The next is a small lof in Jervis-street, on which is a timberyard, workshops and dwelling-house; now occupied by Barney Byrne, another Popish accusant.

Every gentleman tried his fortune' in the same manner, and Barney Byrne's yard was declared confiscated to Coombe Drury.

The next concerns coming under this description is that excellent property built on and in the possession of Major Fitzgerald, known by the name of the Farming Repository, in Stephen's-green; they are held by a lease of 200 years, subject to an annual rent of 160; on them the Major expended more than ten thousand pounds, in lasting improvements.

Gribbins. Fethatch take the box, and I hope you will have the good fortune this night of being heir at law to the Croppy Major.

Firethatch throws, and is followed by every other member, but contrary to the wishes of the reverend chairman the numbers appearing in favor of General Suds, he was declared next in succession to the Major.

Sans-terre. As we are obliged to G 2 confine

confine our business for the present to the disposal of well secured properties contiguous to barracks, here is the plan of an excellent new house and whiskey shop in Essex-street, held by lease for 750 years; at the small rent of eight pounds, as it is no adequate reward for the services of a gentleman belonging to our Lodge, I will add another holding to it, Barney Cum. mins's Tobacco shop and manufactory in Thomas-street.

Gribbins.-Gentlemen take the box and dispose of Barney's house and the Whiskey-shop.

The gentlemen threw by turns, and the two lots were adjudged to Smith, man sorter to Lord Carhampton in the Year 1797,

Sans-terre. The next article for your consideration is the excellent new built Chapel in Clarendon-street, with the house in front of it, belonging to Charley Reilly of Castle-market. This Chapel is built of the best mate. rials, and at a small expence could be transformed into a Jumping Tabernacle, which will be in considerable demand as soon as the Bible Society are enabled to compleat a plan they have in contemplation, to establish a garrison of Welch Jumpers in the metropolis, as an advance guard of Bible-soldiers, for the extirpation of popery, the abolition of pikes and

crucifixes.

Gribbins —Gentlemen throw for this valuable property; on which Bul brook, Adjutant of the Battalion, having thrown 51, the Chapel and Charley's house were decreed to that distinguished character.

As the night was now far advanced, and the Doctor expressing a wish to depart, having promised to sup at Mount Jerome, where he was engaged to sing a new performance, for the Hibernian Journal, against Doctor Drumgoole and the Catholic Com

Sale of Asses.

Mr. Cox, having fitted up a com. modious and extensive Mews at 150, Abbey-street, where the Cognoscenti may be accommodated with Horses offers for sale the following Asses. and Asses of every description; now As he will give no engagement with

any of them, the purchasers must take such documents of their pedigrees, them as they are; accompanied with performance, &c. as he has received from his grooms.

He is English bred, and won a race from the celebrated Ass York, which was run over the Princess Royal him so hard that when they came near course, for the pistol plate. York run the winning-post he began to bray, and bit off a piece of York's ear. He is a stupid animal, but, very tractable, in the care of a skilful driver he can be made to do any thing; he possesses no instinct. of self preservation, for he would as soon leap into a quarry-hole, as walk through a kennel. His keeping will be very expensive, as he must be drenched with whiskey, at least, ten times a day; he is a bad mover, and so apt to stumble and tumble in the dirt, that, the purchaser if he sticks close to him, will be sure to get a filthy coat.

No. 2 Sorepole-a tight well formed Jack, but very vicious-be is quiet when rode by a servant, or draw. ing a cart to market with cabbages, but, the moment he gets coach harness, or any decent trappings on him he kicks and plunges so desperately, that it has been found necessary to keep what jockeys call a jury twitch, for him. The application of this instrument to his nose, instantly quiets him, but he is so sagacious, that, when
