The President, pro tempore, having called the Senate to order,

Mr. Edmunds, from the committee on executive business, reported back the message referred to them at the last session, and recommend that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination of Phineas Farrand, to be prosecuting attorney for the county of Jackson; which the Senate did confirm, by the following vote:

The nomination of Edwin S. Lathrop, to be inspector of beef and pork for the county of Jackson, was confirmed, as

red back to the committee; and,

Monday, April 12, 1841.

The President, pro tempore, having called the Senate to order, announced the following message from his excellency the governor:

To the Senate:

I hereby nominate John V. Ham, to be notary public for the county of Allegan.

I also nominate Thomas S. Bunker, to be master in chancery for the county of Barry.

I also nominate Silas A. Holbrook and Thomas L. Acker, to be notaries public for the county of Branch.

The Senate went into consideration of the nomination of John V. Ham, to be notary public for the county of Allegan;

and the nomination was advised and consented to, by the following vote:

The President, pro tempore, called the Senate to order.

Mr. Edmunds, from the executive committee, reported back to the Senate the several nominations heretofore referred to said committee; said nominations being contained in two executive messages, one dated April 1st, and the other, April 5th. The Senate then advised and consented to the nominations of George Lasley, to be inspector of fish, and William D. Holt, to be notary public, both for the county of Mackinac, by the following vote:

On motion, the balance of the nominations by said messages, aforesaid, which have not been heretofore confirmed, were postponed indefinitely.
