FOREWORD

This committee print contains the text of the Longshoremen's and Harbor Worker's Compensation Act as amended by Public Law 92-576, and other background material.

The enactment of these amendments represents the culmination of 12 years of effort to increase the benefits, expand the coverage, and improve the administration of the workmen's compensation program for the more than 800,000 workers covered by the act and its extensions.

This print has been prepared in order to provide information and assistance to the Members of Congress and the public with regard to the new features in the law.

HARRISON A. WILLIAMS, Jr.,

Chairman
