debt czar add off knight psalm hymn işle err often

Mr KNIGHT has lately taught a young woman, in my parish, to read, on the principles of the Plan of Teaching he is about to submit to the Public. I was twice present when he was engaged, and was much pleased with the proficiency of his pupil, and the perfect acquaintance she manifested with the peculiarities of Mr Knight's system.

JAMES MARSHALL,

Minister of the Tolbooth Parish,
Edinburgh.

EDINBURGH, 7th Dec. 1840.

I had the gratification of hearing Mr KNIGHT's Pupil, at her 16th Lesson, read, in his accented New Testament, a few verses, which she had no opportunity of previously preparing; and this day, at about the 27th or 28th Lesson, she not only easily read in it, but also to my great admiration, a number of verses, with little difficulty, and without preparation, in the ordinary School Testament.

THOMAS GREIG, 24, Buccleuch Place.

The Pupil referred to above is twenty-two years of age. She had been made acquainted with the Alphabet, for the first time, at the Tolbooth Parish School, in September last, and received her first lesson from me on the 5th of October thereafter.

GEO. KNIGHT, 2, Brandon Street, 21st Dec. 1840.
