This Association shall be known as the Illinois State Bar Association. II. OBJECT. The Association is formed to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, to promote reform in the law, to facilitate the administration of justice, to elevate the standard of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, to encourage a thorough and liberal legal education, and to cultivate and cherish a spirit of brotherhood among the members thereof. III. MEMBERSHIP. All persons, members of the Illinois State Bar Association in good standing on January 24th, 1895, are declared members of this Association. Any member of the legal profession in good standing, residing or practicing in this State, may be admitted to active membership; and distinguished members of the profession not in active practice at the bar, may be enrolled as honorary members. |
