PROCEEDINGS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE ILLINOIS STATE BAR ASSOCIATION AT ITS TWENTY-FIFTH ANNUAL MEETING, JULY 11, 1901. The Association convened in annual meeting at the Auditorium Hotel, Chicago, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, July 11, 1901, and was called to order by Jesse Holdom, President. PRESIDENT HOLDOM: Gentlemen of the Illinois State Bar Association will kindly come to order for the twenty-fifth annual meeting. I would say to the gentlemen that there is a representative of the Banquet Committee in the foyer of the hall, who will be very pleased to assign you to seats at the banquet table on application. I recommend that you apply early as there is quite a demand for seats. The first in the order of exercises is the President's annual address. (The address will be found in Part II.) PRESIDENT HOLDOM: Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you Mr. Hampton L. Carson, a PROCEEDINGS. distinguished lawyer of Philadelphia, who is the guest of the Association, and who will make an address tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock; and I desire to say to you that it will pay you handsomely to be here and listen to his eloquent words, and I trust there will be a good attendance. (Applause.) The next order of business is the report of the Secretary and Treasurer; Mr. Matheny has the floor. MR. MATHENY: I noticed that in reading his address, Judge Holdom occasionally omitted a page or two, and as my report is nearly as long as his address, I shall follow his example by omitting all of it. What I shall read will be merely a condensation or abridgement of the detailed report, which will be printed at large in the proceedings, as heretofore. Detailed report submitted and filed as follows: REPORT OF JAMES H. MATHENY, SECRETARY AND TREASURER, SHOWING RECEIPTS AND PAYMENTS FROM JULY 5, 1900, TO JULY 8, 1901. RECEIPTS.
