holy Name: For these so great benefits of thy eternal goodness, and for that thou hast vouchsafed to call many of thy servants to the same Office and Ministry appointed for the salvation of mankind, we render unto thee most hearty thanks, we praise and worship thee; and we humbly beseech thee, by the same thy blessed Son, to grant unto all, which either here or elsewhere call upon thy holy Name, that we may continue to shew ourselves thankful unto thee for these and all other thy benefits; and that we may daily increase and go forward in the knowledge and faith of thee and thy Son, by the Holy Spirit. So that as well by those thy Ministers [and more especially in this place], as by them over whom they are appointed thy Ministers, thy holy Name may be for ever glorified, and thy blessed kingdom enlarged; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the same Holy Spirit, world without end.

Glory be to thee, O Lord. Amen.

NOT

OT unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name be ascribed all Honour and Glory, and Praise, with most humble and hearty thanks, in all Churches of the Saints. Even so, blessed be the Lord our God, through Jesus Christ our Lord and only Saviour. Amen.

Benedictory Prayer.

THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy

Ghost, be with us all evermore.

Amen.

MONDAY.

THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IN THE FLESH, AND HIS FUTURE COMING IN GLORY.

Morning Prayer.

At the beginning of Morning Prayer, the Master of the Family may read one of the following Sentences, unless there are any proper for the day.

LAY

AY not up for yourselves treasure upon the earth; where the rust and moth doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven; where neither rust nor moth doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal. St. Matt. vi.

The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing: but in every thing, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil. iv.

Let us walk honestly as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. ib.

The General Confession to be said by the whole Family, kneeling.

ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father; We have erred and strayed from thy ways like

lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done: And we have done those things which we ought not to have done: And there is no health in us. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou them, O God, which confess their faults. Restore thou them that are penitent; According to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesu our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, To the glory of thy holy Name. Amen.

For Pardon.

GOD, whose nature and property is ever to have mercy and to forgive, receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound with the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of thy great mercy loose us; for the honour of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.

Then the Lord's Prayer, to be said by all.

UR Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be

thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us

from evil: For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever.

Then may be said,

O Lord, open thou our lips.

Amen.

And our mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

O thou, who on the second day didst create the firmament of heaven, the heavens, and heavens of heavens:

Glory be to thee, O Lord.

Then, all standing up,

Psalm xcv. 1, 2.

O come let us sing unto the Lord, let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgivings, and shew ourselves glad in him with Psalms.

Te Deum Laudamus.

WE praise thee, O God: we acknowledge

thee to be the Lord.

All the earth doth worship thee the Father everlasting.
