Commitment.

Same as the form, post, Ch. 5, s. 2. If he do not immediately pay the penalty, or give security for the same to the satisfaction of the justice, he may be committed to the house of correction, to be there kept to hard labour for ten days; 19 Geo. 2, c. 21, s. 4; and if he do not immediately pay the costs, or give security for the same to the satisfaction of the justice, he may be committed to the house of correction, to be there kept to hard labour for six days. Id. s. 10. If he be a soldier or seaman, however, instead of being committed to the house of correction, he shall be ordered to be publicly set in the stocks for one hour for every single offence, or for two hours for any number of offences he may be convicted of at the same time. Id.
