An Act for granting to Her Majesty certain sums of money required for defraying certain expenses of the Civil Government for the fiscal years ending on the thirtieth day of June, 1874, and on the thirtieth day of June, 1875, and for other purposes connected with the Public Service.

province of Quebec, and the estimates accompanying the same, that the sums hereinafter mentioned are or may be required to defray certain expenses of the government of this province, not otherwise provided for, for the fiscal years ending on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, and on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, and for other purposes connected with the public service may it therefore please Your Majesty, that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislature of Quebec, that:

1. From and out of the consolidated revenue fund of $232,550, applied to certain the province of Quebec, there shall, and may be applied, a purposes mensum not exceeding in the whole two hundred and thirty- tioned in two thousand five hundred and fifty dollars, for defraying

the several charges and expenses of the civil government and public service of this province, or which, in the interest of the public service, may require to be so paid and applied, whether for account of this province or otherwise, for the current financial year ending on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, which are set forth in the schedule A, annexed to this act, and for the other purposes therein mentioned.

2. From and out of the consolidated revenue fund of this tain purposes, province, there shall be, and may be applied a sum not exmentioned in ceeding, in the whole, one million, six hundred and fifty thousand, five hundred and thirteen dollars, for defraying the several charges and expenses of the civil government and public service of this province, or which, in the interest of the public service, may require to be so paid and applied, whether for account of this province or otherwise, for the financial year ending on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, which are set forth in the schedule B, annexed to this act, and for the other purposes therein mentioned.

3. Nothing herein or in the schedules hereunto annexed, nor yet any payment or application whatever of moneys hereby appropriated, or of any part thereof, shall be held to import that such moneys are so paid or applied for charges or expenses of this province properly so called, or are not otherwise provided for, or are to be finally carried to account of the said consolidated revenue fund; but on the contrary, every such payment and application shall be held only to be made provisionally from such fund, and subject to all rightful adjustment in account hereafter, in respect of the Dominion and of the province of Ontario, and of all special funds which the same may at all effect, and otherwise.

4. Accounts in detail of all moneys expended under the the legislature. authority of this act, shall be laid before both houses of the legislature of this province, at the then next session thereof.
