hereafter be made, relating to the Island of Newfoundland, or the Fishery thereof, may be recovered in a fummary Way in the said Supreme Court, or in any Surrogate Court; and every Penalty and Forfeiture of the Sum of Ten Pounds or under may be recovered in the Court of Seffion, or before any One or more Juftices of the Peace; and all Fines, Penalties, and Forfeitures impofed, paid, or levied in any Surrogate Court,or in any Court of Seffion, or before any One or more Juftices of the Peace, shall be forthwith estreated and paid into the faid Supreme Court by the Surrogate, or by the Juftice or Juftices of the Peace refpectively before whom they were recovered; and it shall be lawful for the faid Supreme Court to iffue Procefa for better compelling fuch Juftices and Surrogates to bring to account all Monies which ought to be fo paid and accounted for as aforefaid; and all Money arifing from fuch Fees, Fines, Penalties, and Forfeitures fhall be applied and appropriated towards defraying the Expence of carrying this Act into Execution.

XVII. And be it further enacted, That if any Aation or Suit Limitation of fhall be brought or commenced against any Perfon for any Thing Actions fix done in pursuance of this A&t, fuch Action or Suit fhall be com- Months. menced within Six Months next after the Matter or Thing done; and

THEREAS an A& of Parliament paffed in the Second Year

of the Reign of His late Majefty King George the Second, 2 G. 2. c. 28. intituled, An Act for the better Regulation of Attornies and Solicitors, by which it was enacted, (among other Things,) That from and after the First Day of December One thousand feven hundred and thirty, no Perfon fhould be permitted to act as an Attorney in any of His Majefty's Courts of Record therein-mentioned, unlefs fuch Perfon fhould have ferved as a Clerk for and during the Space of Five Years to an Attorney, duly and legally fworn and admitted, and 'fhould have been thereupon examined, fworn, admitted, and inrolled in any of the faid Courts refpectively: And Whereas by the faid Act, it was provided and enacted, That nothing therein contained • should extend, or be construed to extend to the Examination, Swearing, Admiffion, or Inrollment of the Six Clerks of the Court of Chancery, or the Sworn Clerks in their Office or the waiting Clerks belonging to the faid Six Clerks, or the Curfitors of the faid Court, or of the Clerks of the Petty Bag Office, or of the Clerks of the King's Coroner and Attorney in the Court of King's Bench, or of the

Pleas at Weflminfler, or of the Attornies of the Court of the Duchy Chamber of Lancafler, or of the Attornies of the Court of Exchequer at Chefler, or of the Attornies of the Courts of the Lord Mayor and Sheriff's of London refpectively for the Time being; but that the faid Clerks, Filazers, and Attornies refpectively, fhould and might be examined, fworn, admitted, inrolled, and pra&tife in their r fpective Courts and Offices aforefaid, in like Manner as they might have 'been, or done before the making of that A&t: And Whereas Objections have been made and allowed to the Title to Admiffion and Inrolment as Attornies, by virtue and under the faid Act of Parliament, of Perfors in refpect of their having ferved a Clerkship of Five Years to fome of the Clerks to the King's Coroner and Attorney of the Court of King's Bench, and having afterwards b. en admitted to practife as Clerks of the faid Coroner and Attorney: And Whereas it is expedient that Perfons having ferved a Clerkship of Five Years to fome of the Clerks of the King's Coroner and Attorney of the Court of King's Bench, and having been afterwards admitted to practife as Clerks of the faid Coroner and Attorney, fhould, in refpect thereof, be entitled to be admitted and inrolled Attornies: Be it therefore enacted, by the King's mott Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That the faid Clerks of the faid Coroner and Attorney of the Court of King's Bench who have been regularly admitted, or who hereafter may be regularly admitted as fuch Clerks, fhall and may be approved, fworn, and admitted to practife, and may practife as Attornies in the faid Court of King's Bench, and may alfo practife in any other of the Courts of Record in the faid recited A& mentioned, in the Name, and with the Confent of fome fworn Attorney of fuch Court, fuch Confent to be in Writing, and figned by fuch Attorney as aforefaid, in like Manner as the Attornies of fuch Court, or the Attornies or Clerks of the Offices of the King's Remembrancer, Treasurer's Remembrancer, Pipe or Office of Pleas, in the Court of Exchequer at Weminfler are, in and by the faid A& empowered to do.

II. And be it further enacted, That this A&t fhall be deemed and taken to be a Publick A&t, and fhall be judicially taken Notice of as fuch, by all Judges, Juftices and others, without being specially pleaded.

An Act for the Appropriation of Twenty thousand Pounds out of the Confolidated Fund of Ireland, towards the Encouragement of the faving of Flax Seed for fowing in Ireland [28th April 1809..

Spirits of the British Sugar Plantations. [28th April 1809.]

II. And be it further enacted, That from and after the paffing of this A&t all British Plantation Sugar which before the paffing of this A&t, or at any Time after the paffing thereof, fhall have been or fhall be warehoufed in Ireland, shall be fubject and liable to the Rules, Regulations, and Provifions, contained in an A&t made in the laft Seffion of Parliament, intituled, An Act to permit certain Goods imported into Ireland to be warehoufed or fecured without the Duties due on the Importation thereof being first paid.

WHEREAS certain Rates and Duties were granted to Fris

Majefty for One Year, from the Twenty-fifth Day of March One thousand eight hundred and eight, by an Act paffed in the laft Seffion of Parliament, intituled. An Act for continuing to His Majefty certain Duties on Malt, Sugar, Tobacco, and Snuff, in Great Britain, and on Penfions and Offices in England, and for repealing so much of • certain Acts as relate to certain Duties of Sixpence and One Shilling refpectively, on Offices and Penfions, and for re-granting the faid Duties of Six-pence and One Shiling refpectively, and the faid other Duties for the Service of the Year One thoufand eight hundred and eight, and it is expedient to continue the fame to His Majelty, His Heirs and Succ: flors for ever:' May it therefore please your Majefty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament aflembled, and After March 25, by the Authority of the fame, That from and after the Twenty-fifth 1809, there fhall Day of March One thoufand eight bundred and nine, there fhall be be paid upon affeffed, raised, levied and paid unto and for the Ufe of His Majefty, ali Annuities, His Heirs and Succeffors, upon all Annuities, Penfions, Stipends and Penfions, &c. other Payments, Salaries, Fees, Wages, and Perquifites, as fet forth in the Schedule to this Act annexed, the feveral Rates and Duties respectively inferted and contained therein; which Schedule, and the Rates and Duties therein refpectively contained, and the Rules and Exemptions therein refpectively mentioned fhall be deemed and conftrued a Part of this Act, as if the fame were feverally and refpectively incorporated therewith, and under a fpecial Enactment: and the Duties hereby granted and contained in the faid Schedule when paid collected, or deducted, fhall be under the Care and Management of the Commiffioners for the Affairs of Taxes for the Time being, appointed or to be appointed by His Majefty, His Heirs, or Succeffors.

Sixth Day of April next after the Ratification of a Definitive Treaty of Peace further additional Rates and Duties in Great Britain, on the Rates and Duties on Profits arifing from Property, Profeffions, Trades and Offices, and for repealing an At paid in the Forty fifth Year of His prefent Majfly for repealing certain Parts of an Act made in the Fortythird Year of His prefent Mojefty for granting a Contribution on the Profits arifing from Properly, Profeffions, Trades and Offices, and to confolidate and render more effectual the Provifions for collecting the faid Duties; and one other Act pailed in the Forty-eighth Year of the Reign of His faid prefent Majefty, intituled, An Act to amend the Acts relating to the Duties of Affeffed Taxes, and of the Tax upon the Profits of Property, Profeffions, Trades and Offices, and to regulate the Affeffment and Collection of the fame.

Penfions or Stipends refpectively, thall be Commiffioners for putting in execution this A&t and the Powers herein referred to or contained, in the feveral Departments or Districts throughout the faid refpective Parts of Great Britain; and the feveral Inspectors-General, Inspectors, and Surveyors refpectively, and the feveral Clerks, Affeffors and Collectors refpectively appointed or to be appointed, to put in execution the feveral Acts beforementioned, fhall be Infpe&tors-General, Infpectors, Surveyors, Clerks, Affeffors and Collectors to put in execution this Act within the Limits of their refpective Departments and Dif tricts to which they are or shall be refpectively appointed, and the faid Commiffioners, Infpe&tors-General, Infpectors, Surveyors, Affeffors and Collectors refpectively, are hereby empowered and required to do all Things neceffary for putting this Act in execution with relation to the faid Rates and Duties hereby granted, in the like, and in as full and ample a Manner as they or any of them are or is, or shall be authorized to put in execution the faid laft mentioned A&t.

And be it further enacted, That this A&t fhall be conftrued This A&t fhall be in such Manner, and to the like Effect in all Refpects as if the Rates conftrued as if and Duties granted and mentioned in the Schedule hereto annexed the Duties were contained in and granted by the said Act of the Forty-fixth Year fpecified in the
