'fhall give the like and a fresh Notice in Writing to fuch Officer before he, she, or they, fhall prepare, kindle, or light a Fire in any fuch Annealing Arch or Oven; and if any fuch Maker or Makers shall light or kindle a Fire in any fuch Annealing Arch or Oven, without having given fuch previous Notice as aforefaid, he, she, or they fhall, for every fuch Offence, forfeit the Sum of Fifty Pounds. IX. And be it further en:cted, That all and every Maker and Makers of Spread Window Glais or Crown Glafs refpectively, fhall, when and fo foon as the fame fhall be feverally and refpectively made or flashed, remove all and fingular the Spread Window Glafs and Crown Glass respectively by him, her, or them fo made or flashed, directly into fuch Annealing Arch or Arches, or Oven or Ovens, and fhall there place and depofit the fame in fuch Manner and Form as the Officer or Officers of Excife under whofe Survey fuch Maker or Makers shall then be, fhall approve, and fo that the fame may, fo far as the Nature of the Cafe will admit, be the mott eafily and fecurely viewed, inspected, and examined, and the Numbers and Kinds thereof refpectively judged of in each and every such Annealing Arch or Oven; and no fuch Maker or Makers fhall at One and the fame Time put, place, have, or keep, in any fuch Annealing Arch or Oven, any Spread Window Glafs and Crown Glafs; nor fhall any fuch Maker or Makers put, place, or keep, any other Sort or Species of Glass or Glass Wares whatever, in any fuch Annealing Arch or Oven entered or made ufe of for the annealing of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refp ctively; and if any fuch Maker or Makers fhall neglect or refufe to remove, when and fo foon as the fame shall be made or flashed, any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glass by him, her, or them made, directly into fuch Annealing Arch or Arches, or Oven or Ovens, or to place or depofit any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs in Manner and Form as aforefaid; or if any fuch Maker or Makers fhall at One and the fame Time put, place, or keep, in any fuch Annealing Arch or Oven, any Spread Window Glafs and Crown Glafs, or fhail put, place, have, or keep, any other Sort or Species of Glafs or Glass Wares whatever, in any Annealing Arch or Oven entered or made ufe of for the annealing of Spread Window Glass or Crown Glafs, every fuch Maker or Makers fo offending fhall, for each and every fuch Offence, forfeit and lose the Sum of One hundred Pounds. X. And be it further enacted, That before any fuch Maker or Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glass fhall begin to close or ftop up any Annealing Arch or Oven, containing any Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glass, he, she, or they, fhail deliver to the proper Officer of Excife a Declaration in Writing, fpecifying the true Number of Tables of Spread Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively put, or depofited and contained in each and every fuch Annealing Arch refpectively; and if any fuch Maker or Makers fhall neglect or refufe to deliver fuch Declaration in Writing as laft aforefaid, every fuch Maker or Makers fo offending fhall, for each and every fuch Offence, forfeit and lofe the Sum of Twenty Pounds. XI. And be it further enacted, That all and every Maker and Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively fhall, and he, she, and they is and are hereby required to keep fufficient and juft Scales and Weights at the Place or Places where he, she, or they, shall make or manufacture Spread Window Glass or Crown Glass refpec tively, Regulations for when flashed into putting the Glafs Annealing Arch. A.D. 1809. tively, and fhall, at his, her, and their own Expence, find, provide, and affix, within fuch his, her, or their Glass House, and within View of the Annealing Arches or Ovens thereof, a fit and proper Hook or Staple in a proper Piace to be approved of in Writing by and under the Hands of the refpe&tive Surveyor or Supervisors of Excife of the Division or District in which such his, her, or their Glass House shall be fituate, and allo permit and fuffer any Officer or Officers of Excife to ufe the fame, for the Purpose of weighing and taking an Account of the Spread Window and Crown Glafs refpectively which shall at any Time be in the Poffeffion of fuch Maker and Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively; and if any fuch Maker or Makers fhall negle&t to keep tuch Scales and Weights, or either of them, or fhall not, at his, her, or their own Expence, find, provide, and affix in Manner aforefaid, a fit and proper Hook or Stapie, in a proper and convenient Place to be approved of in Writing by and under the Hands of the refpective Surveyors or Supervifors of Excife of the Divifion or District in which fuch his, her, or their Glass House fhall be fituate, or shall not permit or fuffer any Officer or Officers of Excife to use the fame, fuch Maker or Makers fhail, for each and every fuch Offence, forfeit the Sum of One hundred Pounds; and if any fuch Maker or Makers of Spread Window Glass or Crown Glafs refpectively, fhall in the Weighing of any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs make use of, or caufe, or procure, or fuffer to be made ufe of any false, unjuft, or infufficient Scales or Weights, or shall practife any Art, Device, or Contrivance, by which any fuch Officer or Officers may be hindered or prevented from taking the juft and true Weight of any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glais, then and in every fuch Cafe fuch Maker or Makers fhall, for each and every fuch Offence forfeit the Sum of Five hundred Pounds, with all fuch falfe, unjuft, or infufficient Scales and Weights refpectively, and the fame fhall and may be feized by any Officer or Officers of Excife. XII. And be it further enacted, That all and every Maker and Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively, being defirous to draw or take any Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glass respectively, from or out of any Annealing Arch or Arches, or Oven or Ovens, to him, her, or them belonging, fhall by the Space of Twelve Hours next before the Beginning to draw or take any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively, from or out of any fuch Annealing Arch or Arches, or Oven or Ovens, give to the Officer of Excife under whofe Survey, he, she, or they fhall then be, a Notice in Writing of his, her, or their Intention, fpecifying each particular Arch or Oven, and the Number thereof from and out of which it is intended to take fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively, and the particular Time and Hour at which it is fo intended to begin to draw or take the fame from or out of fuch Annealing Arch or Arches, or Oven or Ovens, and upon fuch Notice being given, fuch Officer shall attend at the Time mentioned in fuch Notice, and shall unlock and open fuch Annealing Arch or Arches, and Oven and Ovens, for the Purpofe aforefaid, and fuch Officer fhall alfo attend to fee the Whole and all and every Part of fuch Spread Window Glass or Crown Glafs refpectively, drawn or taken from and out of fuch Annealing Arch or Arches, and Oven and Ovens, and fuch Maker or Makers fhall immediately on fuch Officer's Attendance begin to draw and take, and fhall proceed and continue without any unneceffary Delay, Delay or Interruption to draw and take from and out of fuch Annealing Arch and Arches, or Oven or Ovens, the Whole and all and every Part of the Spread Window Glass or Crown Glass respectively, and fuch Maker or Makers fhall immediately on fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively being fo drawn or taken from or out of fuch Aunealing, Arch or Oven proceed to weigh and fhall weigh the Whole and all and every Part thereof with fuch Scales and Weights as aforefaid, in the Prefence of fuch Officer, and fuch Maker or Makers refpectively shall be charged with and fhall pay the Duty for and in refpect of fuch Glafs refpectively according to fuchWeight; and if any fuch Maker or Makers of Spread Window Penalty on Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively, having given fuch Notice, and begun Neglect, &c. to draw or take any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs re- 1001. fpectively, from or out of his, her, or their Annealing Arch or Arches, or Oven or Ovens, shall not proceed and continue without any unnecessary Delay or Interruption to draw and take the Whole and all and every Part of fuch Spread Window Glafs and Crown Glass respectively, from and out of such Annealing Arch or Arches, and Oven and Ovens, and proceed and continue to weigh the fame as hereinbefore directed, every fuch Maker and Makers fo offending shall for each and every fuch Offence forfeit and lofe the Sum of One hundred Pounds; and if any fuch Maker or Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively lalt aforefaid, fhail neglect or refuse to begin to draw or take such Spread Window Glafs or Crown Giass refpectively, from or out of his, her, or their Annealing Arch or Arches, or Oven or Ovens, immediately after fuch Annealing Arch or Arches, or Oven or Ovens, and the Mouths or Entrances, and Iron Gratings thereof shall be opened by fuch Officer, then fuch Notice fhall be void, and fuch Officer fhall again immediately lock up, faften, and feal each and every fuch Annealing Arch or Oven, and the Mouth or Entrance, and Iron Grating thereof in Manner aforefaid, and fuch Maker and Makers fhall give the like, and a fresh Notice in Writing to fuch Officer before any fuch Annealing Arch or Oven, or the Mouth or Entrance, or Iron Grating thereof fhall be again open: Provided always, that no fuch Maker or Makers of Spread Window Glass or Crown Glafs fhall be at Liberty to give any fuch Notice to draw or take any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively from or out of any of his, her, or their Aunealing Arches or Ovens except in the Day-time, and that between the Hours of Six in the Morning and Six in the Afternoon, and that every Notice given for the drawing or taking any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively from or out of any Annealing Arch or Oven at any Hour or Time other than in the Day-time, and that between the Hours of Six in the Morning and Six in the Afternoon, fhall and the fame is hereby declared to be null and void to all Intents and Purposes whatsoever. XIII. Provided alfo, and be it further enacted, That in the Weigh ing as aforefaid of any fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glass refpectively, the Turn of the Scale fhall be given in favour of the Crown, and in lieu thereof there fhall be allowed to fuch Maker or Makers of fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively, One Pound Weight upon each and every One hundred Pounds of fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively fo weighed. In weighing, Regulations for weighing of Glafs, after it has been depofited, &c. Penalty on Makers fhall affit Officers in weighing. Penalty 100l. Penalty on conveyir Glafs from Annealing Arch before weighed, 1001. Glafs fhall be kept apart till weighed. Penalty 1001. A.D. 1809. XIV. And be it further enacted, That when and fo foon as any Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs fhali be weighed by the proper Officer or Officers of Excife, the fame fhall be forthwith placed or depofited in a convenient Room or Piace separate and apart from all other Glafs or Glass Wares whatfoever, and fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Giafs fhall remain in fuch Room or Place where fo placed or depofited for the full Space of Six Hours after the fame hall have been fo weighed as aforefaid, unless the fame shall have been fooner weighed or re-weighed by the refpective Surveyors or Supervifors of Excife, to the end that the faid Surveyors or Supervisors refpectively may have an Opportunity to weigh or re-weigh the fame, and the faid refpective Surveyors or Supervitors are hereby authorized and empowered to weigh or re-weigh all fuch Spread Window Glass and Crown Glafs accordingly, and if upon the re-weighing thereof any additional Weight fhall be discovered or found, fuch additional Weight of Spread Window Glais and Crown Glafs refpectively fhall be chargeable and charged with the refpective Duties by Law payable for fuch Glass respectively; and if any fuch Maker or Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs fhall refufe or neglect to place and depofit fuch Spread Window Glafs or Crown Giafs in fuch convenient Room or Place as aforefaid, feparate and apart from all other Glafs or Glafs Wares whatsoever, or fhall remove or convey, or caufe, procure or fuffer to be removed or conveyed from or out of fuch Room or Place as aforefaid any Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs before the End or Expiration of Six Hours next after the fame shall have been fo weighed as aforefaid by the proper Officer of Excife, unless the fame fhall have been fooner weighed or reweighed by the refpective Surveyors or Supervisors of Excife, every fuch Maker or Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glass shall for each and every fuch Offence forfeit One hundred Pounds. XV. And be it further enacted, That all and every Maker and Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs fhall, when and fo often as he, she, or they fhall be thereunto required by the Officer or Officers of Excife under whofe Survey he, she, or they shall then be, with a fufficient Number of bis, her, or their Servants, aid and assist to the utmost of his, her, or their Power, fuch Officer or Officers, or Surveyor or Supervifor in weighing and taking an Account, or in re-weighing and taking an Account of all Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively of fuch Maker or Makers, on pain of forfeiting for every Neglect or Refufal the Sum of One hundred Pounds. XVI. And be it further enacted, That if any Maker or Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs fhould convey away any Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs from any Annealing Arch or Oven before the proper Officer of Excife fhall have weighed the fame, or fhail neglect or refuse to produce any fuch Spread Window Glass or Crown Glafs to fuch Officer that he may weigh the fame according to the Directions of this Act, he, she, or they fhall for each and every fuch Offence forfeit and lofe the Sum of One hundred Pounds. XVII. And be it further enacted, That all and every Maker and Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs, fhall from Time to Time and at all Times keep all Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively in his, her, or their Cuftody or Poffeffion, and which fhall not have been weighed by the Officer of Excife according to the Directions Directions of this A&t. feparate and apart from all Spread Window Glafs and Crown Glafs refpectively, which shall have been weighed, and from all other Glafs Wares whatsoever, upon Pain of forfeiting for every fuch Offence the Sum of One hundred Pounds. Glafs not weighed, 1001 XVIII. And be it further enacted, That if any Maker or Makers Penalty on ufing of Spread Window or Crown Glafs, fhall for the annealing of any unentered Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glass, make use of any private or Annealing Arch, concealed Annealing Arch, Oven, Utenfil, or Place whatever, other or removing than his, her, or their known Annealing Arch or Arches entered for that Purpose, or if any fuch Maker or Makers fhall fraudulently remove or convey away any Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs, before the fame fhall have been weighed by the proper Officer or Officers of Excife, or hall fraudulently hide or conceal any Spread Window Glafs, or Crown Glafs, each and every fuch Maker or Makers offending, thail for each and every such Offence, forfeit and lose the Sum of One hundred Pounds. XIX. And be it further enacted, that no Maker or Makers of Spread Window Glafs or Crown Glafs refpectively, fhall make or manufacture within the fame Glafs Houfe or Building, by him, her, or them erected, or used for the making or manufacturing of Spread Window Glafs, or in any Glafs Houfe or Building adjoining thereto, any other Sort or Species of Glafs or Glafs Wares whatever, nor fhall make or manufacture within the fame Glafs Houfe or Building, by him, her, or them entered or used for the making or manufacturing of Crown Glass, or in any Houfe or Building adjoining thereto, any other Sort or Species of Glafs or Glass Wares, fave and except Plate Glafs; and if any fuch Maker or Makers of Spread Glass shall make or manufacture within the fame Glafs Houfe or Building, by him, her, or them entered or used for the making or manufacturing of Spread Window Glafs, or in any Glafs Houfe or Building adjoining thereto, any other Species of Glafs or Glass Wares, or if any Maker or Makers of Crown Glass, shall make or manufacture within the fame Glafs Houfe or Building, by him, her, or them entered or used for the making or manufacturing of Crown Glafs, or in any Glafs House or Building adjoining thereto, any other Sort or Species of Glafs or Glafs Wares, fave and except Plate Glafs as aforefaid, every such Maker or Makers refpectively, fhall for each and every fuch Offence, forfeit and lose the Sum of Fifty Pounds. XX. And be it further enacted, That if any Officer or Officers of Excise fhall have cause to suspect that any Spread Window Glafs, or Crown Glafs refpectively, shall have been fraudulently removed or conveyed away before the fame fhall have been weighed by the proper Officer or Officers of Excife, according to the Directions of this Act, fhall be depofited, lodged, hid, or concealed in any Place or Places whatsoever, then and in fuch Cafe, if fuch Place or Piaces fhall be within the Cities of London or Westminster, or within the Limits of the Chief Office of Excife in London, upon Oath made by fuch Officer or Officers before the Commiffioners of Excife in England for the Time being, or any Two or more of them, or in cafe fuch Place shall be in any other Part of Great Britain, upon Oath made by fuch Officer or Officers before one or more Juftice or Juftices of the Peace for the County, Riding, Divifion, or Place, where fuch Officer or Officers fhall fufpect the fame to be depofited, lodged, hid, or concealed, which refpective Oaths they the said Commiffioners of Excife, or any Two or more of them, Penalty on Makers manufacturing different Sorts of Glafs in the fame Place, 501.
