About the author (1991)

Roger E. Axtell is the best-selling author of Do's and Taboos Around the World, Gestures: The Do's and Taboos of Body Language Around the World, and Do's and Taboos of Humor Around the World: Stories and Tips from Business and Life. In these, and similar books, Axtell combines humorous anecdotes, hypothetical situations, and important and useful information to entertain and educate businessman, teaching international business etiquette with an entertaining and masterful style. A former vice president of Worldwide Marketing for The Parker Pen Company, Axtell has spent more than 30 years traveling throughout the world. His firsthand knowledge of various cultures do's and taboos also makes him a frequent speaker and seminar leader. He lives in Wisconsin where he has served as a Special Assistant for Business in the governor's office.
